Grande and 1.6 have same fuel average in city.
On motorway 1.8 gives 1kmpl more due to CVT.

Obviously 1.8 is better than 1.6. it is expensive as well.

I recently booked Altis 1.6 auto.
But honestly speaking/telling, if i have had that extra 3-4 lacks in my pocket, i would have been go for Altis 1.8, bcoz of the following reasons:
1- Extra power
2- CVT transmission
3- Sun roof

Grande i have seen achieving 12-13 km/l in city easily

I've gotten up to 13 km/l in the city with less traffic and barely any signals and literally have never gotten below 10 km/l in the city. A friend's Grande is usually around 9.
There are many factors but generally the 1.6 does slightly do better in the city and the grande better on the highway.

well driving style matters to ..and as far as i have experienced the 1.6 auto does less in city and long then grande mainly due to the dated 4speed auto gear box ..cvti is very good in grande with 1.8 engine.

Maybe it's your driving style.
I used to get around 13-13.5 km/l in city traffic (not in rush hour) with the AC on. However, my cousin gets 11-12 km/l under the same traffic conditions with his Grande.

The 4 speed, while dated, is quite economical in its overdrive gear. So during city drives it has the capacity to return quite an average. The CVT really does shine at higher speed efficiency

bro i barely go above 60-70 km/h in city when needed
Driving around nice and slow
never push the car hard, neither do i brake hard
use octane boosters, fuel njector cleaners, tried everything

i keep it well maintained, get all it's maintanence done on time and keep the tire pressure in check and everything remotely realted to Fuel average.

But i have never ever gotten 10 km.l in city with AC
let alone 13 km/L

my dad got 13.5 km/L on motorway at 120 km/h
this was last year when he went to Islamabad

I wasn't talking about regular or periodic maintenance, I was talking about the driving style.

This is the average I obtained while visiting my village, which is approximately 265 Km Away.

This is the routine average I achieved during rush hours while using it as my daily driver.
