Corolla Altis Diesel launches in India

Why it would be here? Indus toyota is just like a jamadaar(sweeper) who has 100 miles of city circle to manage. Imagine, that sweeper must be earning like executives and thats what our car manufacturers are doing.

Yes the prices of diesel these days are higher than petrol.
And the quality of the diesel being offered here... :-!
I doubt that a D4D will survive if launched here in Pakistan.

D4d was planed, but thanks to our deisel quality, what ive thru my mechanics is that people have D4d Vigos arent happy either, the vehicle keeps giving them issues.

So Toyota on the other hand to keep them selves away from the warranty issues didnt even think of launching it here.

And like things going around i dont think thats hapening soon either

About the mileage being 21.43,

A friend having a deisel Indus Corolla a.k.a 2001 model, claimed to have a daily fuel average of 18km/l and more or less 23 km/l on highways, as he had frequent Karachi-faisalabad trips.

yes brothers ,the altis diesel seems underpowered on the paper ,but actually the car is pretty responsive in the city driving conditions and is good for the highways as well,the six speed gearbox being the major factor ...
also the quality of the INDIAN corolla is very gud and is also very well loaded .

yeah i agree my corolla diesel gives me 18km/l with ac on high way

I used to look at Toyota's UK website in 2005 and at that time they had the 1.4 D-4D diesel there and wished it would come here. I guess Pakistan's market is too small to make an investment here.
Anyone who buys a 1.4 diesel wants economy and not power punch. The diesel would do well here if the price does not increase. Can't comment on diesel quality though.

brother the altis diesel is about 10.9 lacs to 13.3lacs ex showroom delhi.
add another 70000/- to 1 lac in registration ,insurance ,road tax etc.
all prices in INR

I have driven this car properly, it has disappointing performance good only for chauffeur driven use. Compared to all other cars in the segment especially Cruze 148bhp Diesel and Skoda Laura 140bhp CR DSG this car absolutely lacks performance. This car's performance can be best compared to cars of less than half its price.

moreovr luk they hav got company fitted Bumper lamps...which INdus Corolla dnt evn thnk abt....they are just producin car not the QUALITY>.>

true that my friend ...altis whether in petrol or diesel has never been a driver focused car..sure it is a chauffer driven class that generally prefer it..at best the diesels performance can be termed adequate.

In Pakistan the quality of Diesel is pathetic. It is very high on lead and sulphur. D4Ds dont work on the diesel available in our country.

So dont get excited, we will be given a 25 year old 2C diesel engine even in the 10th generation Corolla.

The cartel of oil companies is to be blamed and to some extent the introduction of CNG.
