Oh you forget to mention that 1.8 Civic's engine is a SOHC and the 1.8 Axio's engine is a DOHC!

Civic's 1.8L SOHC is producing 140hp whereas Axio's 1.8L DOHC is producing 144hp! hmm... very little difference eh?

Also, maybe you dont know but all 1.6 and above engines in local corolla were DOHC from 1995 (1.6GLI and onwards till date) and all Honda engines have been SOHC. Yes 1.6 GLI, se saloon and Altis had DOHC engines while all VTis had SOHC engines in Pakistan since 1995

That is correct the B18C has significant advantage over 2ZR-FAE, however if you consider the 2ZZ-GE the difference is minimized somewhat. The 2ZZ-GE produces 189 hp and same torque of B18C.

rear lites are not so bad .

Taking a look at the specs, 1.8 Axio looks much better however I hate the its lights. I can only wish the axio engine was provided in the Altis here. Corolla engines have more low end torque (relative to civic) and are much more fun to drive in the city

U still dont get it do you? SOHC engines have an awkwardly placed spark plug rite? So that means its not in the optimum position yet still, Honda engines put out more horses and more torque. 1ZZ VS R18.... U tell which car is quicker since you own both.
The first time i sat in an altis, i was blown away by the performance. I started doubting civics performance but when i saw these two go head-to-head 3 times, all the doubts were gone n i knew for a fact the civic owns the altis in a 400m drag.

Sirs Honda definitely makes better engines then Toyota (generally) and ZZ series is no match with the B series Honda.

Technically comparing a JDM corolla with local one is close to non sense (unless one can justifies to compare a 1.5L with 1.8L).

Also comparing a local Corolla with local Civic is illogical and sense less untill one starts making arguments like Civic is expensive, no resale, unreliable and Corolla is TOUGH (that is really funny) or etc etc.

Buying 1.5L Axio in place of local Civic is only logical if one wants a better fit finish and sacrifice the brilliant powertrain and suspensions of Civic.

Technically speaking Toyota engines are smooth and economical but they are no match for the R18 or any performance VTEC in raw power.

Now if you pair that engine with a much brilliant chassis and body, the difference will only get larger.

You always talk like Honda Vtec engines are no less than a rocket and toyota make donkey carts only. And the way u elaborate honda civic suspensions like they have better handling characteristics than a Ferrari cox u drove one of those on tracks and finished the nurburgring in less than 5 minutes. And please tell me why cant we compare Toyota Corolla to Honda Civic?? Should we compare the CIVIC to W221??

Its a tyical paindoo thinking. We're not dealing with some 2D here which is owned by villagers of interior sindh because it does well on toya's or by some people living in kashmir because 2D can climb more easily which is infact true.
