I agree with you on that. Ke70s running with almost OEM specs are almost impossible to find. What I mean by"stock" is a car that doesn't have a engine swap and major repairs. Minor repairs over the years are acceptable as the car itself is 40+ years old and I'm willing to pay up to 3.5 Lacs for the car. And I do understand that the car will need work done to it and will also need repairs as well. But I don't want to buy a completely rusted out shitbox and keep throwing money into an endless put of rust and engine problems

Mixed setups. I was talking to guy, one was running the orignal pully fan with 4k engine the other said I have replaced the radiator fan with a electric one.

The pulley one slows down on stand still.

the fixed pulley fan on 4K engine is engine rpm dependant, meaning it will only spin as fast as the pump pulley it is bolted to.

4K also came with clutched fan pulley but those are not GEM models,

and no they dont come with under hood lights. The underhood lamps are a local/KPK/Baluchistan mod.

So do you think, that can be altered by changing the pulley size if the engine is healthy? or better to switch to a electric fan in the long run.

Specially if planning to putting in a AC or over all better swap a EFI 7K and jaan mukao.

If you really want an oem spec car, look for one in KPK or Punjab, You won't find one in KHI. Also, these cars are very prone to rust, combined that with local cheap bodywork, look to spend alot on the body if you want to do it the right way. Parts are very expensive now. For mechanical parts, you can only find replica parts now. I remember back in 2001 or something, I was looking for a brand new mechanical fuel pump for my 4K and I couldn't find it anywhere. mind you these cars were still popular back then.

Also, rust with these cars is eminent no matter what you do. I know knowledgeable people who have had to sell theirs after spending a fortune, just because the rust would re-appear. I would advise to look for another car, like an 80s-90s Honda or something that still has some sort of parts support, and is initially made better. Older Corollas were tin cans.

About the "direct" fan pulley; it works fine and your car will not overheat if you take care of other cooling parts like the radiator, thermo, etc. But ideally, you want the fan to run with a clutch, like how it came from the factory.

OTOH, electric fan setups will get rid of the parasitic loss and your engine might free up some 1-2 horsepower., and works equally well.

The regular import ke70 had the same engine fan as ke20 and ke30, a 4 blade fan direcfly bolted to the waterpump pulley and a large shroud, it was okayish for its job.

The station wagon model came with clutched fan and a different shroud and so did the out of ordinary uk spec cars and oddball HD cooling system cars.

The best is the clutched fan and its shroud, but its difficult to find now, it was smallish and had a metal 2 piece shroud for the radiator.

The factory ac jdm cars (SE trim) had electric cooling fans from the factory, but had its radiator moved to one side entirely too.

For ac install, find its clutched fan, or if you cant find it, make sure the 4 blade engine fan is in place, then install a front mounted pusher fan to help with high head pressure of the ac.

Make sure to not overkill on it, and also shroud the condenser to radiator and ensure the foam piece between the rad and support are in place so you are ensuring all air from the condenser is being channeled through the radiator.

Installing a 6 or 7 blade direct drive engine fan will only make the car annoying as hell to drive. (It will sound like an old truck)

To come close to the air cfm that a clutched fan can pull, your electric fan will be a 50 amp job and incredibly expensive too.

The fan clutch is better as it unloads the engine when not required.

I don't think that you saying is supported by the Physics. Electric fan is less efficient then Mechanical fan,

Electric Fan:
Since First Mechanical energy is transferred into Electrical Energy (Alternator), Then Electrical energy is transferred in to Mechanical Energy (Fan motor).

Mechanical Fan:
Mechanical energy from engine going in to fan.

It is kind of otherway round if you look at it by sizing/performance perspective.

if you replace a 10 inch dia, 9 bladed high pitch direct drive fan with an electric fan that has 4 blades and a max rpm of 1500 - then you will see savings in form of fuel used etc etc, but you may also overheat the engine depending on the design of the system.

OR

a large sized or higher number of blade and pitch engine driven fan saps a lot of power when engaged (if its clutched) - almost close to 5 to 10 hp on a small/medium engine but it will be capable of a lot of CFM (upto 2500-3000cfm) - now getting an electric fan with this much capacity would mean it will have a massive pwm controlled motor and will sap up close to 50 to 60 amps at full power.

If you see newer cars with such fans, you will see that their alternators are capable of 200amps or close.

I once changed the rear U joint on my M151 but it took me 1.5 days and a whole lot of trial and error.
I have done a general rebuild on a cg125 engine and disassembled a f8 engine from a 1980s hiroof but except for these small things I'm a complete beginner, I'm only 17 right now so I have a lot of learn 🏻

@Xulfiqar @capsat This is the Ke70 that I was talking about. It's a two owner car has no major rust throughout the whole body the interior and engine room still has the original paint and the body was booth painted for the first time 3 years ago... It spent most of its life under a car cover. It has a swapped 5 speed it also has AC and is owned by an old man who drives it a couple times a week and goes on long trips on it. He recently took it to Muree a few months ago.
