Crossing Babusar Top on Corolla and Honda City:

if i get option of getting on babusar or my own car, i deny because i have seen pple slipping there cars in mud here and there helplessly . unless you own a SUV or rented jeep that is a massive abuse on sedan cars .. there are big streams which one have to cross , that is much pathetic part of babusar

Guys given its been raining for past few days and with next few days rain as well, I don't think crossing babusur top is feasible on around these days due to mud and wet condition it will probably be hard to do in jeep let alone car. Aside from car I think it's not safe to cross until the weather is dried out. Do you agree. I was also planning on traveling after eid but with this weather canceling my plan .. Unfortunately..

it is doable on car.i have seen cars of every type going on the lulusar route, but its too much of an abuse imo.
just to give you an example i visited AJK last year on Gli 10.. and took it all the way upto Kel..the route looked doable so we went for it..but on the way back there was noise and play in the steering column..the car had just clocked 30k on the odo..
the choice is yours!!

I just returned from my trip on City 2012, via Babusar till Khunjrab Top and its perfectly doeable, and safe. Only two patches are hard for car suspension and steering box. One from Chillas Zero Point where you descend from Babusar Top till Raikot Bridge, and second one is a small patch of few hundred meters while ascending Babusar. Else entire root is metalled road, and a fun to enjoy.
Keep caution when there is rain, as this cause stone falling and might cause blockage at places where you won’t find places to stay such as from Sost to Khunjrab.
Naran weather was very fine yesterday, but Chillas onward was very hot, even Hunza was not comfortable. If someone is interested to cross Attabad lake, Gulmit or Passu is a better choice to stay where weather is pleasant.

Guys, I did not get a chance to reply or thanks the members who have provided the valuable in-put on this thread. I have been able to complete my trip via Sadan vehicles Honda City and Corolla.

Honestly, I was expecting the road to be little challenging but surprised to see that even honda reborn, toyata prius which have low ground clearance easily crossing the babusar top. Actually only maximum 3km to 4 km of the track is not metaled and part which is not metaled is actually in last stages for final tar to be laid down on it. So this part was also in a very good condition for car crossing.

Actually, road which was little bad for vehicles was the part between Chilas till RAIKOT bridge, here there were many patches which not metaled, lots of landslides, rocks all over the road, I did my entire trip from Islamabad till hunza in 12 hours considering my lowest speed between chilas till RAIKOT bridge of 30-40 km/hr.
