Crucial decision Gli vs City

Assalam-o-Alaikum

First of all my requirements

I ll be applying for a car through car financing from CSD as I am from armed forces. Secondly, I am very touchy about economy. Especially, after sales economy that includes fuel, spares and routine maintenance. I am not a teenager or a speed freak but I would like something that does atleast 110-120 Km/hr on highways easily and has no drag in in-city traffic. Resale is also very important, please do keep that in mind as well.

Now, my preference will go to a family car. Comfort level is also important.

Lastly, I would appreciate if the people replying to the thread may please include personal experiences as well. A person who has actually driven the two cars i.e. Gli and City, his opinion will carry more weight. This is not a war between the two cars, I like both cars so just give facts.

I have City Aspire 2013. And my chachu have Gli 2010.
So i have driving Experience on both cars. Gli is tough, very spacious. City isn't tough, not so much roomy, but comfort level is better than corolla.
City i powerful, corolla is under powered. City has more features, but corolla hasn't much.
City is best for Urban areas. And corolla is best for people who lives in villages or drives on bumpy roads.
City cost me 16,18000 with navigation, honda genuine rims, leather seats,etc. But Gli price tag is 16,69000 with no such features.
City has better fuel economy that Gli. Gli is hot target for thiefs but City isn't. Corolla gives you the feel of bigger car, while city not.
City k nakhray ziyada hein, Corolla dheet hai. I HOPE, i answered your question.

Yea I agree, btw how is the insurance coverage, I ve heard insurance companies are a pain in the *ss when it comes to theft. anyone who can guide me on this

yea pretty much pain....
they ask you to come up with alot of documents,n if u work then it gets difficult to get that paper work done during ur work timing,takes a long time to process as well where as on the other hand police does nothing to recover your car or even register an FIR until u give them danda

Gentlemen thanks to your feedback now I am a proud owner of a Toyota gli

If you are buying a new car .... you dont have to worry about spare parts for the next 5 years atleast if you are a sensible driver.General maintainance costs the same for both.
Economy wise city is ahead but that too depends on driving style, Agressive driving and it wont give you any thing above 11 kmpl in honda city.
suspension isnt even miles apart,
highway comfort and handling of city outweighs the comfort level of corolla on rough roads.Corolla is known for roll overs:(
Resale is same for both now ...... THE thing mendatory for a quick sale is CLEAN RIDE and SERIOUS BUYER.

kindly suggest me a car I m looking for for a used car in 1300CC and new or used in 1000CC so far my considerations are toyota passo hana plus 2016 less then 20000km used, new cultus VXL, Toyota Corolla GLI 1.3 M/T 2011-2013 less than 1 lac km used or honda city 1.3 M/T 2013-2015 also less than 1 lac km used. kindly suggest which will be best in terms of fuel, after sales, parts, service, comfort, reliability and security. If you have any other suggestions in this category that you think better kindly mention my overall budget is 14-16lac it will be very helpful for me to decide

City - Lower Maintenance, Excellent Fuel Economy in terms of local assembled cars. Poor comfort.
Corolla - Poor fuel economy when compared with City. Slightly higher maintenance. Excellent comfort.
Maintenance is in terms of Honda Center since i have both 1.3L cars.
Sale is equally good for both cars.
City is however a decade old shape.
Only new corollas have immobilizer so old ones are thief magnets..
City without immobilizer has generally no problems related to theft.
Passo Hana or Moda is a good option when compared with Cultus.
