Cultus 2006 consuming more Engine oil

Dear Friends,

I have Cultus car 2006 model..I purchased this car 8 months before...engine oil always one or two letters less when ever I changed the engine Oil.

1 month ago, I changed the rings of the engine...then little bit better.. but 4 days ago, car engine heated up and when I went to the mechanic, he told me that water circulation control vavle did not work thats why Your car engine heated up. then I changed the valve, thermo state etc.

yesterday when I have to do a long drive...around 800 km..while coming back..car engine change its sound little bit.. when I reached. I see that all engine oil was finshed, car is releasing engine oil through silensor.

I dont understand the reason of this problem?? any one of You experience such kind of problem??

Is it fine to change the Car engine with new one..(EFI Engine for cultus) and if I change the engine.. it effect the after sale of my car?? positive effect or negative one ??

firstly - what engine oil is being used? its nearly impossible to burn up 3 litres in 800 kms on that engine. Was the cylinder head overhauled when your mechanic decided to install new rings.

90% of the time its a valve seal problem and mechanics replace the piston rings.

i will suggest you to check the pcv valve if the engine was overhauled recently...

@ Xulfiqar: Shell engine oil is used..at the moment I dont know the exact thikness number as my brother wnet to change the engine oil.

Yes cylinder head overhauled during ring change.

DO you suggest to swap the engine with efi engine?? as I have spent around 30 thousands on this engine and problem still exist..even patrol consumption per km also increase. How much expense nearlt to do for swap..any idea??

Shell Engine oil is used..I dont know the exact thikness parameter as my brother went to change the engine oil. Cylindar head is overhauled during the ring change.

Valve seal is OK. Do You suggest to swap the engine with efi engine ?? How much the cost will be for efi engine + ECU+ Wiring ?? any idea..??

I'll suggest to find the actual reason for evaporation of engine oil first, before taking decision to change its engine.
You need good mechanic and good oil.
Let me know you location in Lahore, I know a good mechanic in Garden town area and can suggest you to go there for checkup.

Many people are maintaining the same cultus as you have and getting good fuel economy and enjoying the good rides.
So lets find the reason first and then take the decision for engine change.

NOTE: Once mechanic shoots the trouble out, then simply pay him and say thank you. Never took his advice to use some particular engine oil. I bet you can get better advise from here at PW with lot of knowledge.

Just the brand name shell is not enough, you need to tell the exact spec and grade of the "shell" branded oil you bought. Your engine takes 5w30 oil because of the hydraulic lifters (tappet) it has and using up all 3 litres of oil means that your engine should be smoking blue all day long.

By your posts it seems that you are bent on "engine svap" - I cannot comment on that because I advise to do that only if you are 100% x2 sure that you yourself know automotive electrics. Look at the few swap threads here on PW, all the succesful ones are those who wired up the engines themselves.
