Cultus AGS performance

I have bought cultus AGS a month ago. Its ride is good. Its gear shifting is not smooth there comes a pause when car shifts its gear which is annoying. Car shifts to 4 gear even on 40 speed and comes in 5 gear on 50.This is quite embarrassing. I drive this car on manual transmission.

Agree, about the gear shift not smooth but it can be improved up to some extent as you get hands on with AGS and know how it works.
BTW how it’s embarrassing that 5th gear comes on 50? Is there any drawbacks? Though it’s also possible to shift 4thon 50 and 5th after 60. It’s all about getting hands on with time and learn/observe how AGS works.

Agreed, i dont see how it is embarrassing if it shifts gear by itself and you think it is higher gear than recommended, thats how they have programmed the unit,
Also there is no knocking or engine vibrations that are normally noticed if we change the gear too early.
So just let the unit decide the gear and enjoy driving,
And agreed to the gear shits not being smooth, but with time you will be adjusted with this and it will be no big issue,

There is option of manual gears if you are not happy with the gear shifting of ags.

That is really a detailed review you posted for Cultus AGS.
I am planning to get one for a family member. I have heard and read somewhere on the internet that AGS version has some Air Conditioning issues when on slow speed or stuck in traffic. Please share your opinion and experience on this matter.
Other then this, what is the normal maintenance that you are facing on AGS model.

Hello, i have suzuki cultus ags 2017 and facing some problems like sometimes if u let go off the brakes and the accelerator in drive mode, the car moves but with jerks and vibration sometimes etc so is it normal or should i get it checked?

For how long you have been driving AGS?
Usually it takes 4-6 weeks to completely understand how AGS mechanisms work while driving. With observation and experience you may learn how to cope with jerks and get most out of AGS experience.
Slight jerk is normal and easily can be minimized to nothing with experience

Nowadays i am using the manual function only, bit skeptical about auto because it goes to around 4 to 5 gear on low spead and at those times it feels as if the car has lost power and become less responsive unless u hit the accelerator hard.
On manual at high speeds or at 2nd gear, when we shift quickly, it gives jerks and also the brakes, like when we press them slowly there isnt much affect at first but after than a slight more press, the car comes to a hault .what i mean to say is that the breaks aren't responsive or smooth enough. Some times there is a slight sound when u turn on the ac and the vibrates more.
What do u think of my findings and also share the fuel average if u can.

I've 19 model AGS and company claimed that they improved it compared to older versions to minimize jerk related issues.

Driven 10k+ so far and never used manual mode(even on way to Monal Isb). AGS working great so far, Alhamdulilah.

What I observed so far is if you drive your car in ECO mode i.e. below 2k RPM then no Jerk/Lag is felt except when gear shifts from 1st to 2nd. I knowledge that in eco mode car shifts to 5 gear on 50 km/h but I've not felt any kind of under-power-ness even with AC.

If you want to rev-up mean driving in non-eco mode, then all you need is to know the trick of taking your foot off from accelerator for fraction of second just when you know that car needs next gear.

I got 14-16 km/l with AC in city and 17-19 km/l in winters.

In my case the fuel average is about 13 to 14 in city with ac and i don't know but sometimes, not always but in traffic or going really slow the car gives sudden jerks, i don't know if it's normal or not but i have taken the car to many mechanics, they did some tunning and stuff ,the jerks decreased but still didn't go away.
So i wanted to know if u can relate to this problem or u could suggest me a solution .

If you going really slow as you mentioned(I assume less than 2k RPM) I don’t think a sudden jerk is normal in that case.

But If you rev up then jerk is imminent on gear shift (no mechanic can reduce it) coz that’s the nature of AGS. It needs time about half a second to shift gear and during gear shift if you try to accelerate more then you will feel lag/jerk.

To cope this lag, you need to take off you foot from accelerator for a moment and then accelerate.

Remember AGS is same old clutch based mechanism with actuator on top, so it needs some moment to shift gear that results lag.

For how long you been driving AGS and which city?

Yeah I agree to what u have said, I am from karachi and I have been driving this car for about two months now.
The other problem is that when in traffic, when u take ur foot off from the break and the accelerator,(when it is moving on its own) sometimes jerks start happening and sometimes when u go for the accelerator at 1st gear,the car takes off quickly(like your whole body slams the seat) so is it normal?

So far I've not observed any jerks (when car is moving on its own).

Sorry I couldn't understand "car takes off quickly...", do you mean car picks the pace unexpectedly while you driving with lite foot?
If we accelerate with lite/normal foot, we don't feel any jerk or quick take-off.

I think it would take some time for you to learn how to tame this horse. I know AGS is unusual in start but with experience you understand well how it works and how to control(and cope lags).

Yeah i think maybe ur right
On the otherhand mine is about 25k kms used and 2017 model so maybe problems have risen overtime.

And also i have searched the web for this problem, and quiet a few people mainly in india who have got suzuki celerio with them have faced the same problem and got it solved by the company. Its mostly the transmission issue.
The problem for me is that paksuzuki company is not reliable here and i have no experience with them.
So I'll think over going there and see if the problem can be solved.
By the way, if u have any past experience or could give me any advice so plz share.

I’ve no past experience yet. Im driving AGS for last 6months and 10k kms so far.
But I would recommend Suzuki since not many mechanics would have experience with AGS maintenance.

What mileage are you guys getting on AGS? i m getting 13km/lit in city with AC, which is less i think.

AGS: 14-16 km/l with AC in normal city traffic, Lahore.
17-19 in winters.
