Cultus Carby: Early morning black smoke

ur car is running rich on fuel.what is the position of tail pipe?black soot is coming or not?

There is alot of black soot on the tail pipe. Although the mechanic said that it should fix by itself (as he adjusted the mixture a bit).

If carby is bad it should smoke all time. How old is the engine oil? What is the fuel consumption of car? Seems like bad Air to Fuel Ratio, raw fuel is being burned. But if symptoms are explained the answer can be more precise.

Engine oil was changed yesterday along with plugs and setting.
However there was still smoke in the morning. No engine oil decrease ever. Also, in the evening after office, no black smoke and RPM readily starts at 2000.

carb is running rich on fuel.get a complete overhaul of the carb and install small jets.will solve your prob.
top speed will be 120 kmph with small jets

Need a good mechanic for this in Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Have had enough bad experiences to last a life time.

Umair, I think that maybe the problem. Because my butterfly seemed fine when I had the carburetor serviced around 3 months ago.
The didnt use a carb repair kit though. Are the carb repair kits any good?

no one uses carb rpair kit.
carb overhauling includes cleaning by opening bolt by bolt and some new gaskets

ok I had this done 3 months back and the carb is fine. However, I think the mixture is a bit rich thats all.

early morning black smoke only seems like something wrong with the auto choke...until the car is giving very bad average and continuos black smoke..

MY mehran does this when i pull the CHOKE in the morning while cold start up. it gives a black kind of smoke when i pull choke. the engine is in perfect condition . overhaulled 3 months ago
what could possibly the problem?

The black smoke is due to rich mixture, inspect the plugs, they should be black if the mixture is rich, the remedy is to get mixture adjusted using an exhaust gas analyzer, most 3s dealers have it

As i know.........black smoke is normal in morning in winter season.........When choke is pulled.......air fuel ratio is changed and black smoke is also produced than.......if black smoke emit continuously than its problem of carburetor.......If white or blue smoke is emitted along with reducing engine oil, then its Rings,piston problem.
Early morning black smoke from tail pipe , which vanishes after some time is normal........not an issue at all

Can anyone shed some light on Carburator Repair kit? Is it good? I've never heard any mechanic talk about it.

The kits are okay, but the mechanics have no idea of how the carburetor works so they rarely get it running well

Carburetor Kit used once last year during carburetor service, got nearly RS:/850. from Kohinoor autos Rwp.

Friends...some one suggest me to use 98 and 102 no jets for my khyber 1989......is it better idea...as i not know current no of jets in carb...regards

very much seems to be truth but could you tell me why if on petrol car does 120 km/hr with small jets then on CNG it does not even cross that or remain under 120 km/hr.

Does CNG has anything to do with jets inside carburetor?

jets do not do any thing with the top speed on cng
