At high revs, the 'krr krr' sound has appeared.

How much is the labor for this big job and how much time is needed?.

Edit: AND which company and quality should I buy?. Mention the price too.

bad rings do not emit any sound, you will be seeing serious blowby, serious oil consumption and loss of compression if you had bad rings.

Broken pistons would emit a sound SO LOUD that you will immediately stop the vehicle.

Get someone proper to diagnose the problem.

Yes. Oil light is blinking most of the time. Got a full oil change yesterday and it still lights up.

Starting the engine after, lets say, 4 or 5 hours results in some 'krr' sound and its clearly audible if you rev the engine above 5K. The mechanic said its the piston rings.

Your oil pump is not working get it changed,if it keeps like this it will break the piston.Oil pump will cost you 1700 to 2000 rs

From some days, car isn't being driven much and when I do drive, I keep it below 2.5k RPM. One more thing I noticed is that when you switch on AC, the oil light switches on. RPM below 1 also starts showing oil light which wasn't the case before.

Seriously man... u need to change the mechanic. Have some mercy on urself and car. Its not the rings piston sound. Could be the problem in the head. But diagnose ur car from some good mechanic.

All this is happening after my father drove like 10 KM with no water in the car and it over heating and ****. The water body/pump was destroyed. Got that repaired and now these stupid things are popping up. The tires are gone too. Its like 1 lakh plus job on this car now. Not to forget the pressure plate is done for (that would be me :D).

Mileage 91500km.

Edit: Pretty sure now.

you have loss of oil pressure and have kept on driving??? The sound is the engine running dry, Your crankshaft is effed up for sure, just a few moments later your camshaft will be effed up too. along with the piston bores etc.

You should immediately stop driving it, open up the engine or at least the oil pump and check for what went wrong, I can bet the pickup tube is blocked with sludge or silicone (excess RTV) and the pump has damaged itself beyond repair. I can also assume with 65% accuracy that your engine has been damaged catastrophically. Open it up and inspect it, replace or repair as necessary. Cheap option would be to buy a long block and rework the head.

Agree with Xulfiqar:

1)You have to Inspect the head / Valve first to see what is the condition inside
Depends on the condition,the repair of the head and valve may cost you around 4000 to 5000 rs Minimum

I recently bought an oil pump for my margalla and it cost me 1700rs.
Due to faulty oil pump one of the piston was broken in my engine.There was an unusual sound coming from engine.The mechanic told me that it is coming from camshaft.only when we open up the engine found broken piston.

As Xulfiqar said better get it checked ASAP.In my opinion you need a complete engine overhaul.

Xul, got a full oil change worth 2235Rs. day before yesterday. Stick is fine. I just checked the oil, its burned and black. Not a problem I suppose?.

Oil light isn't on now. I just checked one pipe that has a habit of getting loose. It was off. Some vacuum pipe, so the car was stalling.

The sound is there. Car is being driven normally but less. Even though we have been warned, but still driving. I was thinking of getting a new engine block, but... no. Pakistan's and our business situation (Thanks to R.Malik) isn't good. I just want a new oil pump, new seals and bearing and if needed new piston rings, a thorough cleaning and inspection.

I dont think that crankshaft is damaged. If that is damaged, then the car shouldn't pretty much move or at least it wont drive smoothly.

As for mechanic, the man is working in Olympia Motors, senior mechanic, is my father's friend. He isn't a slouch, believe me.

Which parts aren't being lubricated if the oil pump isn't working?, and how the hell can you actually tell if its working?.

There are no leaks or anything abnormal so the oil is in the engine, that is for sure. The smoke is normal too for CNG.

If the oil pump is not working NOTHING in the engine will get lubricated. The oil will just sit in the sump while the engine runs to death.

a worn crank wont stop a vehicle but have great loss of oil pressure when hot, it also would have very loud noise on startup as the main and big end bearings would cause the crank to rattle. Mechanics call this "Main begin sound"

To check for oil pump working - you need to screw in an adapter in the oil pressure switch port and measure oil pressure. This test will show you how much pressure the oil pump is producing. a bad pump will show no spike of oil pressure when revved and similar will be a result if the relief valve is jammed.

A worn crank with big clearances on the bearing journals but a good pump will show a drop in oil pressure when the engine is hot and show high pressure when cold.

Revving car now to 3.5 or 4K results in some terrible sound just like the sound that is produced when car is running on no water. Like some clattering. Oil pump related I assume?.

Its the sound like this when revved but a lot low and is only produced above 3.5K rpm.

loss of oil circulation has caused your engine to completely destroy itself. I think you did not fully understand the gravity of the situation when the oil light started to flicker and you did not check the running oil pressure.
