Cultus Problem on petrol

no one is giving guarantee of work other than the 3S dealers who want to semi overhaul engine like headgasket, rings tappets, head tooling etc. So for now driving mostly on cng and convert to petrol only when it is warm and before turning off switching back to cng

A.A. Friends i m facing exactly the same problem..rather on cng also rpm is at 800 when cold and after getting warmer stays at 1000.
No shaky rpm at cold start on cng while on petrol engine turns off if i leave foot from accelerator for 2 mins till it gets warmer.
I have got carburator serviced and butterfly was also repaired.What could be the reason. plz suggest some good workshop for this in wah/taxila/rwp/isbd.

The auto-choke might not be working.

yes it is not working...is it due to this or any other issue can cause this??

Since no smoke and any other problem on CNG - the reason is most probably excessive fuel / petrol.

You should get a compression test, when the car is very cold, like in the morning

there could be many reason - first identify the problem.

Wrong spark plugs / or gap not set properly
faulty distributor or dirty point.

Check if car is manually advanced for CNG.

brother i will do that on this weekend..but one problem is there that the car behaves normally after 2 min and 3s shop is about 8 km away.In this time car gets warmer and i will have to wait for atleast 2 hours so that engine may become cold.....

there could be many reason - first identify the problem.

Wrong spark plugs / or gap not set properly
faulty distributor or dirty point.

Engine was tuned a month ago.mechanic cleaned spark plugs.....Regarding timing setting, he rotated distributer clockwise and stopped at almost 10% less than the fully clockwise turned position.

What was the condition of spark plugs? did he inspect or he just cleaned and refit.
Also distributor adjusted on CNG?

spark plugs just cleaned and refit as i replaced them 3- 4 months before (approx 3500-4000km)

First find a mechanic with the tool, the tool itself is very small and portable, ask the mechanic to come to your home.

Update: a compression test will be good help in the diagnosis, but I feel this is a carburetor problem.

Can you drive the car on petrol for a day and then show us the oil on the dipstick.

First I was thinking that valves might be sticking, but since it runs fine on cng, it seems more likely that it is running too rich

No matter ur plugs are new or old - u just inspect the tip, it will tell u if there is something wrong. Also your car is advanced to work better on CNG. You will face knocking and missing issue on petrol. Reset the timing on petrol.

Forget everything else and Get your auto-choke replaced or clean its the very first thing
