Cultus VXR 2000, a gem, a real workhorse

strange thing happened.. the car starts fine but after driving a bit the horn, headlights, hazard lights & all the speedometer lights go off.... then when u switch off the engine & start the car again the above would work fine and after traveling a little distance they will again go off! took it to the electrician and found that one of the relay went out of order and actually created a conflict with the central locking system. The central locking system actually locks all the doors as soon as the brake is applied for the first time, now the faulty relay was shutting off all the electrical connections to the speedometer & horn etc instead of locking the doors whenever i apply the first brake got it fixed and it was a job done for 20 rupees only

I own a Khyber of limited edition but most of the features are same as cultus..so got the answers of many problems which i was facings these days

U were lucky that ur mech found the correct problem...

As i prev said my car would start wobling on 1st and 2nd gears if i want to keep on a constant speed below 2.5K RPM, i went to Suzuki Isb motors last thursday, the issue seemed to be resolved at that day, but arised again just after a day or two and than the isssue was with third gear also.
I went again to them the person said this issue is common with all EFI engines, how ever he did the tuning again, but the wobling is still present....
I dont understand why this is so, i think there's some electronic issue but can't guess where it is...

The good thing i found in them, i got a call from them (Suzuki ISB motors) on saturday and they were asking u did service from our service center, are you satisfied? I told them there's some minor problem and i will come again... (I went to them for first time on thursday and then again on tuesday)...

I need some suggestions for my car.

1. I have got small holes on my car's roof should I make them heal or leave as it is as my cars is having original paint.
2. While on performing a tune some times its gives blue smoke on CNG. mechanic told me that i have to get the engine work done by changing the rings.
3. i purchased this car 2 months back. my car was perfect at that time.. but timming belt was break while driving at about 20KM/h i suddenly stop there.. and got changed it by a side mechanic but was not satisfied by his work.. because after that i was getting some sort of jerks and a reduced pickup all that crap..
4. i also feel a jam drive.. like there is something which is reducing the pickup and speed of the car.. i feel a jerk when i remove the accelerator..

kindly plz help me to resolve my problems as i got this car @ a very high price.

zubair its good if they do care about their customers, however do get it checked from another computerized tuning facility if available within your area.. might give u a better picture of the problem

welcome to the thread Usama, i also replied to your message but im not a frequent user of msn messenger so it would be your luck if you find me on msn okay here are the answers to your queries

1. A nicely repainted car is always better than a rusted busted original.. so please keep your car tip & top rather than worrying about resale and keeping it in original condition
2. Blue smoke is something serious. it can be due to worn out piston rings OR worn out valve seals.. get it checked by a true professional
3. Now this is even more serious.. a broken timing belt can damage your valves & engine, this can be one of the reasons you are getting blue smoke since timing belt may have caused damage to your valves (just a guess), get its inspected by a true professional and also the quality of the new belt that you have installed counts, as it can be the reason why you are still facing pick problems etc
4. get the CNG tuned properly... secondly the jerks may be due to poor plugs or plug wires, also do get the engine foundations checked.

by the way whats the model and how much did u paid for it?

Usman It got a Lambda sensor, and no body else has the software to get it tuned... Only Suzuki's authorized dealers have it....

I dont know the exact model but as it is written on book that it is 2000 and was registered on 12th may 2000..i guess it would be 99.. my starting alphabets of number plate is ACR.

I got this car for 3.15. my uncle chose it for me as I was busy in my papers in that duration. I saw this car at the time of delivery.

ACR means either late 1999 or early 2000.. but you have to be very careful while purchasing a used car.. specially do not get betrayed by the outer looks of the car, the engine and mechanics are equally important. Always be careful to replace the components before they actually need to be replaced, like timing belt in your case. The timing belt for Cultus SF310 should be changed between 65-75thousand kms, not more than that. Khyber is coded as SA310 which i believe would have a similar timing belt change period. always note down the date and the mileage at which you have changed a certain part, it would be easier for you the next time you need to change it. Like i last changed my car's timing belt at 1,62000 something and the next change is due at 2,25000 while my car yesterday has clocked 1,85000km MashaAllah! this way i do know as to when the said part has to be changed.

i contact to a professional mechanic.. he said that new piston rings are needed to be installed.. and he was also saying that he will also check the valve seals..it was producing a lot of loud noises.. may be it is due to valve seals..

from monday he will start work on my car.

acha can you plz tell me that what are the symptoms on which clutch plate or pressure plate is to be changed?

the pick dies, even when the clutch pedal is fully released, you will feel as if its slightly pressed.

last night had to go to a party so washed & polished my car before going there with whole heart... the car was looking desperately pretty and was giving some seriously stunning shine at night! next morning i woke up only to find a big scratch on the right fander all the way to the rear right door don't know if its deliberately done, looks as if it has been scratched with a pointed thing or perhaps due to a kid who would have mistakenly rubbed it with an unbalanced bicycle.. these are the things which leave u with a heavy heart.. no matter how carefully u keep your car, these sort of things ruin all the effort behind maintaining a vehicle in a sophisticated manner.
