I'll get the drums checked out soon. One of the problems I have had at spare parts shops is that they won't sell genuine parts, and some will even sell Mehran and Alto parts. Yesterday, I almost bought an Alto fuel filter but since I had seen a cuore one, I bought the right product. Any specific brands that you recommend? Are MK brake shoes good?

I would recommend Nippon brake shoes and pads. They cost a little more but last a bit longer

The coolant that I bought was Osaka (rs.150). The Guard coolant was rs.250, but I decided to cheap out because I am on a very low budget. The shopkeeper said the brand did not matter. Is that true?

Budget Is always a constraint Bhai that is why it took me 1.5 years to restore my car. Bhai the coolant matters alot.Caltex and Toyota concentrates are 800rs. Or more for a liter. The cheaper the coolant the faster it will damage the cooling system. It is rather better to you Air Conditioning drained water than the coolants which are available in water bottles.

Now when ever you change a coolant again, buy a Caltex, toyota or Aisin one. They are good. As a brother and a unimate I am telling you. Also search for an original product.

Ask you mechanic to grease the steering rod arms or tie rod joints. And notice if there is any wobble in you steering wheel. Noise is not much of a big issue but wobble is.

zic super cool green coolant costs Rs 2000 for 4 liter bottle. 50/50 premix ready to pour

theres a reason these coolants are expensive.

Below are the costs for the financial year 2018, for the months of September 2018 to December 2018.

The final costs are 21,280, of which rs.9000 were spent on he car immediately

There is pending immediate work of rs.5-6k in the car right now (brakes service and steering wheel issue).
Is this normal expenditure given that around rs.20000 was spent in 4 months?
We are very pleased with the driving pleasure and convenience of this vehicle and are seriously thinking about buying another one but the maintenance costs are a little high.

The cost are okay as it is most trouble free car available from toyota in the league of 800cc category.

I guess this is the personalization cost for the since you bought it second hand it takes time to personalize your car according to what your mind perceives. Try to observe the reducing trans since 22000 in 4 months means 5500 with out fuel on an average which is something on the higher side.

Also Kuddos for the awesum record maintenance. Also keep receipts.

also how much are you driving? oil change interval?

you need API SG or SJ oil in your car (use the thinnest oil available in this category unless your engine is worn out). DO NOT use the newer oils in your car.

fuel filter replacement/service? this isnt normally needed, unless your tank is full of junk. we had a cuore from 2009 to 2018. never needed this.

tyre related costs are due to your driving conditions, and will be same for any car. 1500rs ka kaunsa tyre ata hai? if you are using reconditioned tires, i highly recommend you get new warranties tires.

radiator service: again why was it needed? I had it done only ONCE in the time we kept the cuore.

Foundations: the rubber foundations in the market are not good quality and have a tendency to wear out soon. specially the gearbox foundations.

1. Will fill with genuine coolant from next time.
2. I am driving at an average of 1000 Kms per months which is high because in the last 2 months we only have Cuore, and I change oil at an interval of 4000 kms.
3. Switching to a thinner oil has improved the idling stability of the car a lot. Last time I myself bought the car instead of the mechanic and you people thankfully helped in that decision.
4. Apparently this was a problem. The car was still running on its original fuel filter (Nippon Denso) and after two months it got choked. It was full of garbage. It stopped one night away from home and I do not know which idiot my father took the car to, because after that the garbage traveled all the way from the fuel lines to the carburetor.
5. Yes these tyres are reconditioned pieces. I dream of being able to afford new warranty tires but my budget does not allow for it at the moment.
6. Radiator service was done by our family mechanic 'Jawed' that has done nothing but looted us in the last few years. Again, my father sometimes drives the car and he takes it to Jawed. I scolded the mechanic's ass off when the radiator leaked again. My mechanic is 'Tariq Bhai'.
7. I am talking about the metal engine foundations here... which have a tendency to get weak in cuore after a while. The engine is bolted to three foundations of which two I replaced when I bought the car.

My father also says that the initial 9000 were a given to compensate for the neglect of the previous owner, and does not reflect the cost of maintenance for cuore. I, on the other hand, feel like we should not differentiate in expenses at any costs.
Yes I have kept the receipts too. My final plan is to restore this car to its glory, but that will take time, given my financial position,

its not metal foundations, there is rubber inside the foundation casing housing.

a solid metal foundation will shake the car to bits

i think your car has the aluminum radiator..

change the coolant asap. you will run into much more problems if you keep using water/colored water

@nfssaad that thing is not even water. it is something even more dangerous. it can actually form some type of sludge in the radiator and the cooling system

Then flush your radiator using Liqui Moly Radiator Flush.

Today, the ultimate happened. I got into a big traffic jam at Maskan Chowrangi. The car was running static for an hour straight. By the time I reached home, the car had started smoking. Thankfully, there was a mechanic right in front and he diagnosed the problem immediately. I got out of the car to this horror:

So hot was the car, that the coolant had been leaking. The diagnosis was that fan relay had blown and after a small and cheap replacement fix of Rs.130, things returned to normal.

I am wondering how can I restore the cooling system to its glory, so that the car can bear the upcoming hot summers with AC properly. Any advice brothers? I will buy the original toyota coolant this time as per your directions, but will it actually improve radiator performance? I know that these coolants last a long time, but I also know I am one overheat away from losing all that expensive organic acid.

Brothers, the thread's first post has been updated. I also managed to find cuore's original workshop manual on Pakwheels thanks to @hassaan334 who sourced this manual and actually paid for it. Thanks Alot! My plan is to read it throghout to be totally in sync with my car.

@muhammad.irtiza dear bring the cooling system to it's factory settings is very easy.

Thing which are required:

1. A properly clean preferably new radiator. It better to get a copper one. Although aluminium one has longer life.
2. All the new hoses,
3. A good quality coolant preferably Toyota or Halvoline
4. A thermostat valve.

Firstly get you head gaskit and automatic fan switch checked. If they are fine . Install the above components, and make the fan automatic. Also check the wiring to the temperature guage on the instrument console. Install all the right relays required and ask your electrician to do a neat job with joining the wires not just tape them up.

It the above things are done. Fill the coolant in the system via radiator and bleed the system so no air is trapped. You can check "chrisfix" video for reference on YouTube. Then clean your coolant reservior and fill that up to the max mark not above that. Also check for Fan speed. The car should not reduce coolant at all. And the temperature guage should remain between 30% to 40% mark.

The front left has green coolant all over it if you see very precicely..

For financial year 2019, I am planning to earn more from my vehicle given the costs, so Inshallah I can maintain it even better. First on the list is brake work and then then radiator work. And my final, biggest dream is to restore the paint and bumpers on it,. but I might have to land a good summer internship to finance those passions.
The car, Accord to the service manuals I have been reading, is nearing thr replacement cycle for most if it's stuff given it's gradual approach to 100K kilometers. God help me in the future.

Inshallah everything will go good and as planned. Check in the placement depart for the internship. Do check on the cooling system first as this can dage the engine.. yes it is about time to change all the belts and other things..
