Aslamoalaikum. I ve cuore 2006 mode manual transmission . Im using zic hiflo 20w-50 engine oil but average is very poor.ppl say it should run about 3500km with 2.5 ltr but its average is just 2500km. Mechanic say ring pistons need to be changed. Please help whats problem, should i change engine oil or its something wrong with my car engine

Change oil to caltex havoline 20w-50 and ensure the engine has its thermostat valve installed and the fans are on auto.
The temp needle should be around 40%.

i also observed it with 20w-50 oil. fuel consumption increases. if there is no power,smoke isuue switch to thinner oil. i am using shell hx7 synthetic 5w-30. costs 1800 and fuel consumption is good.

Thanx for abrupt reply bro, my car's temp needle does not move if a.c is off. No idea about thermostate valve and its fan but i'll ask from my mechanic. Thax for ur help omar bro

I think i should go for havolin 20w-50 and going to make sure engine thermostate valve installed with auto fan

Do you mean that oil level decreases? If it is so, then i had similar situation with my Suzuki Mehran, there was issue in engine and ring pistons were over hauled.

I woupd suggest shell helix hx7 but it is api-sn which is not suitable for flat tappet rocker engines.

you are 100% right. anyway I did some research and found out that caltex havoline 10W-30 is of same thickness as 5W-30 at normal engine running temperature. havoline 10w-30 has long been used in cuore without any problems. anyway i don't remember exactly but few months ago i found caltex 10w-40 at caltex pump.

other cars on internet that needed high ZDDP were older classic cars of 60s+ with much bigger engines. and high load on rockers and then high temperature. cuore has same technology but it has a mouse engine and load on rockers will not be very high. and its rockers do not generate a lot of heat. also hx7 is a modern synthetic oil with anti-friction and anti-wear additives.

and of course a thinner oil gives better economy, performance and protection.

so i shifted to hx7 and i am liking it so far. i have no doubt that best oil for cuore is 20w-50 in api SG/SJ for longer engine life. ps: my cuore is 2005, with 130K and a perfect engine. and what i felt is better performance, quiet engine and good economy.

few days ago changed gear oil of my Cuore myself. it is really easy. all you need is a container, zic 75w-85 FF gear oil(best in my opinion) x2, a 24mm spanner, a piece of pipe and a funnel.






this is the location of drain plug under cuore.


fill hole is in front of gear box. directly under distrubutor. it is 24mm bolt. big bolt in front coming out is reverse restrict pin. don't touch it.


after a drive remove plugs and empty oil in a container. then install drain plug fill 400ml from a bottle. idle and drain again.install drain plug again.
fill rest of oil(1.6 litre) with help of funnel and pipe. and install plug on fill hole.
enjoy a happy gearbox.

yes @faridahmed manual cuore takes 1.6L 75w-85 geal oil. zic ff geal oil costed me 960 for 2.

Dear all coure lovers,
what will be market reasonable price of Coure M/T 10-12 model in clean condition with low mileage. I am not Model conscious, but vehicle should be clean, and engine working fine. What about the fuel economy on CNG and Petrol. I was previously thinking for City or Swift. But now also considering Coure.
As i have small family. Swift fuel economy is too bad. I can get city model of 06-08 in my budget of +-1 million. So 6-8 year old city may cause regular problems. If i will not satisfied with coure than i will definintly go for swift as i can get 10-11 model in my budget and can spend the money on fuel but not on headache of regular maintinance of old city. Please suggest with your kind opinions.

Makes sense.. it does have a tiny 2.6l sump..

Thanks brother for reply, please one more thing i want to confirm, is coure comfortable on long routs on our roads. i am not expecting the comfort and luxury of a 1300 cc car, nor the long journey of 500+ km. I am just asking for its comfort in 200-300km travel. Or it is +- like Mehran and Cultus. As my daily traveling is about 20km, but have to travel 200-300km once or twice a month. I had 2005 Cultus, gave me number of problems, now have brand new Mehran, but both are pathic on long. Also Mehran is giving me fuel economy of 18-22km/lit w/w.o ac, but long traveling is very hard and i have to even take pain killer to sleep at night.
