and yes as you can see old wiring is PI**ed off,so got a new uncut wiring,will remove the old one,and add new uncut wiring.
got a new flywheel,will shed it around 2kg and that will go in

Woah that's one abandoned 7th gen

Was the old motor giving any specific problems? Since the D17A isn't worth a swap unless there was something wrong with the D16W9 as both are almost the same and the spec sheet is pretty much identical as well

lol its dirty,10 year old car,hvnt used from i guess 2 or 3 months,was parked in lot.btw its in total original paint even now.
here is how it looks when a bit cleaned.

page16, yes the setup was unbolted before as i was on to swap k20 but was paused coz i dint get manual gear for k20,found a guy had one but he was asking 175k for complete gear.that is the reason shut the hood and parked it at side again.
btw u'l see when it'l be cleaned and detailed i'm more a performance guy btw.
and about d17,yes got almost 2hp difference but d17 got handsome torque aswell.
plus you know more displacement=more response to mods.
plus aftermarket support of d17 is way more than d16w9 as d16w9 only came in pk and philipines but d17 was widely produced.
americans prefer d17 for turbo charging.i'm too going to turbo charge it after swap as ahad_civic did.
and its an easy swap at workshop,we are doing it at home along budds borrowed chain and some tools from nearby workshop.

@rohaan as far as old motor is concerned,did some allmotor pungas with it,ran freaki'n rich (yes a blunder) got washed rings and blown head so....this is the fate of d16w9

Yeah true D17 is good for turbo charging, as for aftermarket support, yeah even most of the parts I got for mine are originally for the D17 including the K-pro.

A friend has a high compression D17 setup here, the car pulls brilliantly and has done wonders at the Autocross.

Yeah if it's original paint then all you will need is some detailing and your clear coat will be restored, will look good as new

yup and 17's respond better to addons.
as far as paint is concerned yar i'm least bothered about it,i want to turn it matte black,slap some lightweight 17's and lower it,addition of some decent lips

and d17 got torque more than b16A2,a4,a3 etc and close to b16A type R.
yes i know b16's got more power,are way powerful than d17's but still i'm impressed by torque specs.

Yeah imo D17 is under rated, if there was a bit more aftermarket support this engine would have been a poor man's B16A.
