Daewoo is not upgrading their buses. most of their buses are 06, 08 , 10 model where as Faisal Movers and Bilal Daewoo always use 13, 14, 15 Model buses which are brand new and much more noise free... i prefer faisal movers now for Isb/Lhr travel

It is important to mention here that some transport companies are running fake daewoo buses..
They put new Daewoo bus body on old hino chasis.
They are using 1985 1986 model old HINO NISHI buses with new DAEWOO Bodies.
I dont want to mention the company name here but always travel with good reputed Transport..
DAEWOO PAKISTAN and FAISAL MOVERS are using orignal new daewoos whereas others use both mixed..

I agree the largest user of refurbished daewoo is kohistan bus service of fsd .almost all of their daewoo are nishi with daewoo body as you can guess from body frame +door+ sound.

But not all are using this.faisal mover bilal skyways niazi all are using original daewoo buses.

Regarding bus in pic its a daewoo pakistan bus and this model is older one which they got in 2004 05 no longer used in long routes but rather as local bus in lahore or small route

You are right .. As I said DAEWOO PAKISTAN and FAISAL MOVERS are most reputed companies .. Im not sure about others .. mostly DAEWOO buses of private companies on KARACHI to QUETTA route are actually HINO NISHI buses with DAEWOO bodies and companies are presenting them as ORIGNAL KOREAN DAEWOO BUSES.. Im not against putting new body on old bus as everyone wants to give a fresh look to his business/vehicles but running them on long routes as orignal daewoo is not fair ..Its dangerous rather ,,

i dont know if this is a current change. but 3-4 years ago it was Sammi Daewoo. even u can google it. i know Daewoo is name of brand . so any toyota bus stand u cannot say its toyota stand either its Faisal Daewoo bilal Daewoo or Sammi Daewoo.. anyways may be they changed their name now from Sammi daewoo to simple Daewoo...

as per a local driver Daewoo is being manufactured in Karachi..it is original daewoo under license..and these are being used by all other transportation companies other than Daewoo express..they are using imported buses.

Traveled FSD-KHI, 20 fkin long hours, my bumpy bump was stiff, but the driver(s) were proper people representing the company they work for. No idiotic overtaking, didn't exceed the speed limit and ensured we had a great experience. Killed 3 dogs btw. Only complaint I have is that the shocks/springs were too soft (?), bus kept on bouncing after a bad hump in the road

its no longer sammi daewoo used to be before but now again daewoo pakistan.

many companies use similiar scheme of colors but SHELL ad + removal of windows + hiding logo with mud + seat color indicates more chances its daewoo pakistan not other local brand.

problem here is high beams people relentlessly use them its v dangerous esp on highway when at high speed you are faced with beam and no longer able to see far ahead.

the engines used in fake daewoos are not old but ofcourse of hino company and they are much powerfull then daewoo engines i guss they are better

First it's good to know that most of the passengers escaped unharmed.

Most of the REPLICA Daewoo buses you see are NOT Nishi (JDM HINO) but Desi HinoPak buses. Need more explanation?

Nearly ALL NISHI buses have their engines mounted on the REAR. Only HINO PAK sells chassis with FRONT mounted engine. Have you ever seen a replica Daewoo with rear engine? Please note that the grills on the rear are to make it look more like a real Daewoo but I can differentiate between original and replica in matter of seconds.

I wonder how difficult it would be to convert a high-decker Nishi into low-decker fake Daweoo :o

Daewoo drivers are much better drivers than their counterparts. One of the major reasons me and my family prefer daewoo over other cheaper and some more luxurious counterparts is because of the drivers, i have seen other bus drivers drive pretty rashly for e.g daewoo drivers when overtaking on the motorway rarely come to overtake in the third lane but i have seen other bus drivers frequently use that lane for overtaking without any regard to the cars.

Looks like the bus has been used quite alot but still it fared quite well.

MAN is man, man! Although it's made in Germeny, furbished in China like Sunwin Volvo running as Metro Bus in Lahore & Rawalpindi, but it is still much better than Afzal's Daewoo. Does it ply between Lahore-Islamabad? I've never seen one except in pictures and couldn't believe it for a moment. I'll take ride in MAN someday!

Anyway, I'm not talking about buses but the way they drive them. Daewoo Sammi drivers are more responsible than others, Faisal Movers is my 2nd preference.

I'm quite impressed how they COVER UP their name but covering the emblem is the most stupid thing so I give them -5 out 10 for the COVER UP job overly done
