Daewoo Battery, Should I buy again?

My scanner was showing 9V.

Today it also started without any issue. But the volts after turning on ignition (fuel pump and blower continuously running with ignition on) drops from 12.6V to 11.9V in few seconds

when it was discharged and at 9V, still the battery indicator was showing green and not white.

Either battery is past its effective service life, or, there is something wrong with your voltmeter / multi meter.

So should I go for it?

If not satisfied with current battery, then have it replaced with AGS.

It served me without any issue for 2 years. Can other batteries exceed this?

I would suggest to go for traditional / classical type battery, which is old school type, i.e. Concentrated Sulphuric Acid + Water, and then charged fully, and preferably from AGS.

For long life of battery, ensure that distilled water and Sulphuric Acid are 100% pure, and may be, lab. grade.

I have checked it using my obd scanner not voltmeter. So its pretty accurate. I just started my car today morning. And the volts were 11.62 constant and it started without any issue.

YES. Provided they are taken good care of, and my above 02 cents (or 02 paisas ) are taken in to consideration.

If battery voltage is 10~11 Volts, then it may crank / start the engine, however, it'll not be considered a healthy battery.

For voltage between 9~10 volts or further below, then the battery may even fail to start the engine, especially in cold weather and winters.

As per my ltd. knowledge; Voltage across terminals when battery has been fully charged and car's engine is in OFF condition, must be somewhere in-between 12.5~13 Volts, or even more.

When battery is being charged via alternator / generator, the voltage across terminals is usually around ~13.5 Volts and above.

Now the days it is taking to discharge is drcreasing gradually. Now at 7th day the battey has no juice the crank the engine. Also checked parasitic drain test and there is no drain when car is turned off. So means battery is going. Now you said that other batteries can run for more than 2 years whereas my father is saying that the other maintainence required battery like ags and excide are worst than this. They even failed at 6 months to one year previously. Daewoo batteey (DRS 65) is costing around 7600. And in our corolla se saloon its also reaching 2 years mark this august and have no issues so far and that car is regularly driven whereas this car is driven once a week mostly or even after 10 days. One bad thing is battery indicator showing green whereas it should be on replace.

battery will end up earlier if you use a car weekly or even less, then a car which is daily driven.

i think the battery may last another year if it is charged properly

voltage will come in normal range after charging

use a daewoo. i have same in my civic. no issues.

I completely agree i had similar issue with Daewoo i have switched back to AGS

I have used AGS and maintained it for 3.2 Years main thing is proper maintenance

Sorry to say but the main issue is regular maintenance. Pani checking is very difficult for me. And 3.2 years is not a good life. I think in daily driven car InshaAllah daewoo will give more than that. So i think daewoo is better option. The car I am talking is driven very less.

This May 08 2021 AGS in my daily mule will complete 3 years. I purchased it dry prepared it using pyro electrolyte solution. Slow Charged it for 8 hours before installing it in the car. Only maintenance i did was electrolyte check and clean terminals.

By All means i will push it further, plan to change it any day if it fail to crank engine for cold start.
3 years trouble free service is enough.

and had a gup shup with the shop owner
he did admit
the avg life of batteries these days is 2 yrs max

good luck with daewoo. it did not work for me and few other friends. it dies in parked cars very quickly.but since u hv already made ur mind even before posting.good luck

I haven't made the mind before posting but when ags and excide etc are also giving 2 to 3 years life than I better go with daewoo.

ags also has launched dry batteries now
