An update to the petrol consumption issue.

I thought I had removed the air blockage for CNG but later found that another plug was fitted at the mouth of the in-take. But then after removing that the car wouldn't run on CNG. The kit installed is a Landi-Renzo basic non-EFI CNG kit, with just a regulator and pipe going in the throttle body (no emulator etc.). I tried changing timing through distributor but that didn't make much difference. So I had to put the blockage on for it to run on CNG.
I still haven't done the ECM diagnostics step but did try to get the ECM reset by removing a fuse for a couple seconds (mechanic suggested, I went to him to do this but he insisted on removing the fuse), but consumption was still high. But here's my question, does Petrol consumption immediately improve or does it take time? Someone told me that after conversion from CNG (on which you drove for a long time) to Petrol the car would consume more Petrol for a brief while until the valves (or some other parts) position themselves relative to Petrol?

If you have removed the blockage, you need to readjust the mixture from the regulator (Opening the T few threads) until the RPMs are stable again. If the mixture is not accurate, timing adjustment won't make any difference. Can you tell me how the CNG installer controlled the injector, as the injector should not operate while on CNG, since no emulator is installed.
Once ECM self learns the parameters, it retain it's status until it is reset again. The ECM can retain it's volatile data for at-least 10 seconds after disconnecting power, so once you take out the fuse and/or remove the negative battery terminal, wait for at-least 20 seconds to be on safe side. If someone told you regarding the "resetting again", then I think CNG installer has disconnected the main ECM wire during operation on CNG. If you are facing similar issue, ask your CNG installer to reconnect the wire back, and instead disconnect the injector main wire (the red one) during operation on CNG. ECM will readjust the petrol average after continuously running for about 30 minutes. Also don't forget to get the CO value checked before running.

Unfortunately, CNG was installed by a previous owner. And yes I forgot to go for the mixture adjustment this time as I panicked seeing the car such unstable thinking the last thing I did was timing so maybe that is the reason. I'll fix this.
That makes sense that they could've disconnected the whole ECM on CNG. That way every time after CNG the ECM gets reset and all previous settings are lost! I'll get this checked.

About general parameters of my Petrol average: The CO value set is 3.3. There were 5 adults and 2 children in the car, along with some luggage in the trunk. I measured ~7.55 Km/l when we refilled at Murree. But coming back and then doing some city driving yesterday (with lesser number of passengers) I measured again and got ~10 Km/l. I think the extra weight and incline might have contributed to the low average too.

obviously, more weight + incline = more consumption

Still it is good that you have noted the existing CO readings, try decreasing the CO value unless the idling is rough. Then slightly increase the CO value until the idling is stable. After going through this process, you can get optimum petrol average.

hey everyone
from a week or so my car runs good for about 30mins, car behaves in a strange way i press the accelerator and car starts roaring but does'nt go anywhere and after 2-3 seconds it suddenly gains power, mostly we see this kind of behavior wen cng setting is not appropriate but in my case car do this on petrol even, and the strange thing is that car runs absolutely fine for the first half an hour, is it due to MAP sensor??

Does CEL appear when the problem occur? It seems that the fueling is improper, the fuel pump might be a culprit that looses it's efficiency when hot.

no CEL does,t appear on the dial, and i have checked the ECM, it only shows 12,12,12!!

Can anyone tell me about the AC filter.
Last year i install Sandan compressor (KABLI) but after one month compressor faulty (its one piston was broken)

actually there is some problem...whenever im drivi ng at a low speed and i ve to shift gear between ist and 2nd...as i step on clutch..the car rpm goes really high..its light the car speed increases manyfold..the car itself doesnt speed up but only the noise..and then even when im standing at a stop sign in neutral the rpm remains high...but when i switch the car off adn restart it..some times the car remain normal...i went to mechanic and he has decreased the rpm..but still when i push on clutch i feel the engine getting heavy..but as the rpm is decreased so there is not much noise...MAP sensor is ok...Got the ECM changed...so i dnt know whats next to do...

Does the CEL appear when the RPMS are raised? When you turn on 'A/C', what is your car's behavior? What is the TPS voltage at idle? (To check the voltage you need AVO Meter, connect the +ve(red electrode) to blue wire and -ve(black electrode) to the black wire of TPS, then turn ON the ignition. It should be 0.5V-0.6V)
