Hello DFC members experience from Mian Khan Rawalpindi, please.

Mian Khan is an honest person and expert in his field ,
My details for complete engine overhauling r as follows (jul-2010)
Work completed in 3 days.
Engine Foundation: 550/-
Silicon: 180/-
Kerosine oil , cloths, sand paper: Rs.600/-
Head valve : 900/-
Piston: 2600/-
Rings: 1800/-
Main Bigun: 1250/-
Jane Kit: 1850/-
Kharadia work(9 different jobs) : 4750/-
Labour Mechanic: 3500/-
Oil /Filter : 1525/-
Total : 19505/-
Now drive is still very smooth with less engine noise ,
awesome pick ,great mileage with no heatup issue, no vibration at all. and i am satisfied
with Mian Khan's work.

1. I suggest to go for any 10W-40 (Shell Helix HX-7 or ZIC-A and some TOTAL also) are probably the only options which will eventually remain available all the times to come.

2. 10W-40 grade in all the above mentioned brands are called "Synthetic Like" but are not truely synthetic but have synthetic additives for cleaning. I am using Shell HX-7 and runs for 3000~3500 km easily in my Daewoo which was completely overhauled in April 2011.

3. Also it is the OEM recommended oil grade as well.

So if you have newly overhauled engine, go for this otherwise go for any good 20W-50 grade oil maybe ZIPPEX. Someone told me all the oils are good if you change timely and provided you don't get the fake..... Lets see what other DFC members have to say from their experience.

Go for KIxx 10W40, it easily gives mileage of 5000Km. Current cost is around Rs 160/1700. Much better than shell, castrol, etc.

I've got this car since 2 years, but i've never driven it on petrol. I bought it in the same condition and only ran it on CNG, but since the CNG load shedding was coming to sindh as well, i tried to make this thing work. Though i failed becoz the problem was not only the fuel pump, but the fuel tank is full of rust & dust. So instead of getting it cleaned i wanted to replace it but what i've heard is that is not available at first place & even if it is; its gonna cost alot. So i find this thread very useful in this regard that i can hav knowledge & idea of the prices in other cities as well. Is it true that daewoo parts are easily & cheaply available in Rwp/Isb areas? If yes plz can anyone share where i can find it & at what price even in Khi. as I would prefer to get it from hometown. Thanx

Did you check the throttle plate for any 'play' or 'stickiness'? If a problem exist, get a kabli throttle body with all accessories (IAC, TPS) and install it!

By the way, you must have AVOM in possession, if not get one and check for sensor voltages. It is likely that the TPS might be faulty. To check TPS follow this step; At idle, it should be 0.5-0.6 Volts. Give some mild throttle several times and release slowly while the AVOM still attached. The reading at idle should come back to 0.5-0.6.

If the CEL appear during the problem, the VSS might be a faulty candidate.

am here to share an unfortunate incident that could have been a night mere, but Allah Talah saved us, last sunday i went for wheel alignment, after that i went home, there was a continuous sound from the back of car bt i was in a hurry so neglected it, the next day car started shaking a bit from the back, i inspected but couldnt found the reason after traveling 15-20km it started making a louder noise and started shaking vibrantly. i got out again and to my mere surprise the rear wheel had only single nut on it, wat i did afterwards is a diff story, but the point is do chk the car bolts by ur self after any tyre work!!May Allah save us from all these bad incidents

I always go to Wheels and Wheels , they do their job with lot of responsibility , and u r also right , we shud also check by ourselves , thanks

I got my engine overhauled from Mian Khan Rwp about two weeks ago in Rs 26000/-.I am satisfied with his work howver fuel consumption is heavy on petrl i.e. About 6 Km/L in city.Can any one comment about it.Mian Khan told me thjat there is some problem in Electric system that leads to proper supply of petrol in carborator.
