Hello all, i am new in this club but an old fan of Daewoo. My brother kept one for 5 years and i also kept the same for 2 years. Then due to some emergency i had to sell it. Now that things are good, i purchased a Daewoo 2 weeks ago. Its First Owner 2001 registered to a Airforce Officer who kept it for 11 years. Now i got it with every thing in it, owners manual and stuff, but the issue is, The officer used it very roughly, I had its Front hissa all changed with new shocks also, new breakpads, Had all the wiring done cause there were alteration in it. had the Dashboard setup nicely, The wiring in original state and stuff and everything seems smooth. BUT!!!! ..... the engine was overhauled last winter and now there is a "Kar Kar Kar" sound in engine in between 1.5K-3K RPM. Got it checked to mechanics including Shaukat Ustad, Fedreal Motors, and finally the one who overhauled it Khalid at Friends Autos. All with the same conclusion, The crank has play and needs to be opened and built again. Now i want to tell that the Engine Piston bores are in stock and were not grinded and only piston rings changed. the car has no blow of anykind on petrol and cng. and the pick is awesome ... just the crank play and sound. @Testdriver . Khalid has agreed to work on the crank without labour charges as he made the engine and gave 50,000 Kms gaurantee (Old owner very cooperative on this and said that if khalid demands labour, he will give it to him from his own pocket. Very nice guy.). Just want you guys to guide me up. Also the car is doing what i beileve is 7.5 - 8 Kms on petrol and i think it should be giving 9-10 atleast in city. I found out that the Vss sensor is faulty and broken and now removed ... does that make the fuel efficienty lesser. Please advise as i have to take it to mechanic tomorrow and want to see your opinion on this. Take Care Everyone and Nice to be in this club finally .... Helped me alot.
PS: I also had the Engine Tapits cleaned and now i feel that there is still noise of tapit, at first i thought it will auto adjust after the cleaning. please note this noise is not the one i mentioned above. When i start the engine in the morning, The tapit noise is very loud for the first 1-3 seconds and then disappears. Also after the cleaning of tapit the heat gauge rose even above the half sign and was little below the red. then i connected the fuse to set the fan in direct running which runs in low rpm by the way when direct. and now the heat gauge always stays near between the white and Green starting area. I dont know what went wrong in the tapit cleaning but never checked again in fear of over heating by removing the direct fan wire, oh and also the water level is ok, no reduction in it. The oil i put in is Havoline Formula One, and the oil light when starting is only visible for about 0.5 sec - 1.5 secs. Also the RPM on starting go high at first and then come down in about in morning - 5 secs to 30 secs and when car is hot after some running 2 secs - 5 secs. Also Can you please tell me which components are there to setup the fuel consumtion other than the CO sensor i believe its called and its current setting is 3.33. Thanks in Advance
