I have recently converted Racer to CIELO. i changed everything along with wiring But engine is still of racer OHC. I didnt changed bcz performing very well. i just want to know what if i only changed he header. would hat improve the performance and how much cost would it require. i am from islamabad. please also let me know the best electrition for daewoo. i am havig problem front screen defoger is not working properly. i will psot picture of my car soon to have a view

Yes, you can just swap the head, but for that you will need different head gasket (16 valve gasket have hexagonal shape around the cylinders) and ECM. Also you will need alterations in your existing wiring for Lambda Sensor, IAT Sensor and Injectors. I also swapped the head over stock engine block and it is running great. The swap was done by the Central Automobile guy. You can contact them @ 4433107.

Having thoughts about jumping into this club courtesy or I can say guilty akif bhai .............. kinda already a member since its a dewoo not a daewoo racer club and I do have a daewoo matiz aka chevrolet exclusive for quite a long time now and its a superb car.............. so i am not new to korean cars................ but my current concerns for the racer are:

1. Any solution to the braking issue
2. What is the best consumption people are able to pull out of it
3. What expenditure required for a DOHC swap
4. Anyone selling one in mint condition

    sir testdriver what kind of engine do you prefer for daewoo racer gti can you give me a list of engine that i can fit for this car of mine because here in the philippines we do not have that much of woo racer engine but i already read in some forums that i can fit a mazda engine and its been tested but i what to make sure what engines i can really fit for my woo...

and how did they converted your racer to cielo i think i want to convert my car too and i want to know if you need to change all your wirings and setup of the car..

Welcome bro! (y). Regarding the issues

1. Replace the servo + master cylinder of Cielo...works great. It costs around Rs.2000/= with fitting

2. 
   a. Average CNG consumption within city is around 14 km/kg while on highway it is around 18 km/kg (at 100Km/H).

b. Average Petrol consumption within city is around 12Km/L while on highway it is around 14Km/L (at 100 Km/H)

1. DOHC head swap's expenditure is as follows:

PARTS:

a. DOHC head + Manifolds ~ Rs.7500/=
b. Air Filter Box + Accessories ~ Rs.1500/=
c. MPFI ECM (to be arranged from Lahore) ~ Rs.4000/=
d. Timing Belt + Tensioner + Water Pump + Main Pulley + Generator Pully + Front Plate + Guide Pulley ~ Rs.5000/= (All Used)

e. It will be better to put in the high compression pistons of Twin Cam Engine for better results (9.5:1 compression). Note that the SOHC engine has 8.5:1 compression. ~ Rs.1800/=

f. It is also recommended to replace the engine side foundation and Clutch Plate + Pressure Plate + Clutch Bearing since older Clutch assembly won't last longer. ~ Rs.3000/=

LABOR:

a. Mechanic charges for the installation of DOHC head and other accessories ~ vary from mechanic to mechanic around Rs.5000/=

b. Electrician charges for making necessary alterations to the existing wiring for additional sensors including IAT (Intake Air Temperature) and Oxygen Sensor (O2 or Lambda sensor) ~ also vary from mechanic to mechanic around Rs.1500/=

If you purchase a complete kabli engine, it will cost around Rs.25000/= and you just have to pay for Labor as mentioned above. Offcourse, you will endorse new engine number in your registration book.

Regarding engine swap, the best deal is to find a bolt-on engine. If you go for alterations, then almost any engine can be fit into any car keeping in view the engine bay and other related constraints. Please see the Link

As far as conversion to Cielo is concerned, it depends on you. If you want complete conversion, you need to change each and every thing, but if you need just body conversion then no need to go for each and every thing.

@testdriver............. that was pretty helpful janab........ now the things which came up........

1. Brakes are known to get jammed when full force is applied abruptly, I doubt that would be sorted out by the servo swap
   2.Air filter box change required for such a minor change in engine specs :^), I dont think the DOHC would suck THAT much air in that the box for a 1.5 SOHC proves to be inadequate............. and why not a cone filter when we are coming to that ?
   3.Thanks for the detailed parts price list as it would become handy even if required after a kabli engine is swapped
   4.Whenever I see a daewoo, the body is always kinda full of dents that seem to appear naturally lol......... kinda ripples appearing all over .......... what would it cost to paint a car flawlessly and the estimated cost ........
   The most imp thing, where in isloo is this electritian that gets all the sensor science lol and charges 1500 rs......... we are looking for one for some other car desperately.....

Nice to see u after a long time and many many congratulations for Racer to Ceilo conversion, Bro how much u have spent for this conversion and also post some interior pics.

1. The braking system that came in Daewoo RACER basically works diagonallly that is Front Left and Rear Right brakes are engaged first then the Front Right and Rear Left. This is and effective system, but often ends up with over heating and jamming. But the braking system that cam in Daewoo CIELO is just like any ordinary vehicle having 70:30 ratio for Front and Rear wheels, so overall the brake system doesnot heat up that often and provides good result.

2. The G15SF engine that came in Daewoo Racer is basically a TBI (Throttle Body Injection) and there is no separate Air Intake Box but it is placed on top of the Throttle Body resembling to that of a carburated air filter box. Offcourse, one is not bound to use the F.F. setup, you can use any Air Intake System for your engine.

3. The reason for the dents is obvious, since people got this car so cheap (offcourse price-wise ), they are least bothered to take proper care of it. Regarding the cost of paint...the material prices has sky rocketed :(. It will cost around Rs.3200/= per piece for a metallic paint (A typical sedan body has 11 pieces including 4 Fenders, 4 Doors, Bonnet, Trunk and Roof)

4. The wiring is just a three wire job. Two are taken from the Octane switch while one wire come directly to the ECM. The injectors will use the existing wiring. The cost I quoted is an year ago and the guy who did the job is still in I-10 named Hanif.

of which Car Side Dor Panels are installed? i m also thinking of changing side door Panels
