ASSALAM O ALIKUM guys my car make grinding noise from gear when i shift it from 3rd to 2nd gear on 30 kmph speed but when i drove it below 20 kmph its fine same is the case from shifting 2nd gear to 1st gear when i put it from 2nd to 1st gear even with 5kmph speed it makes grinding noise from gear but when its in idle position it's fine can anyone tell me what's the problem also i want to change its brakes both front and rear can someone guide me from where can i get new brakes daewoo racer

when u accelerate, does the gear make same grinding noise like when u rev hard and shift from 1st to 2nd on 3k RPM ? or from 2nd to 3rd ? does it make the same noise ?

if yes, its time to get ur gearbox redone.

Aoa, im selling my daewop racer. Details are:
Daewoo Racer 1993 for sale. Location: Lahore. 1500cc genuine engine. Silver color freshly painted. Imported and registered in 1996. Everything works perfectly. New Wiring done, new suspension done, new brake cylinder, new seats leather poshish and door poshish. Chilled AC. New headlights and taillights. Oil changed a few days back. Gear oil replaced as well. New battery. Almost new tyres. Not more than 1000km done on them.
Computerized plates and officers scheme number. Tokens paid upto july 2018. File is original, book is duplicate as the first one was lost in challan. :3 Been in the family since import.
Everything on this car has been replaced and done recently, interior might need some work but not any major work required.

Dear testdriver and all other respectable members, hope all are doing well. I have got Daewoo in a very good condition in its original color. The problem i am facing is that i have swapped the water with good quality coolant which is pre diluted. It is from AISIN. I donot have thermostat valve installed in my car.

The Fan is on auto mode. When the temperature needle goes till midway app (tad below the mid line) the fan starts.But main thing is, the coolant starts boiling before the fan starts. I have heard that the boiling point of coolant is way more than that of water. then how come it starts boiling just like water. The needle goes till mid app and then comes down when the fan starts and shuts off. The coolant boils for some seconds and then stops boiling as the fan starts.

What can be the problem? I think the coolant having more boiling point should not start boiling when the fan starts. I can literally see the coolant boiling from the reservoir bottle. Please help.

Firstly install thermostat in your car as you will kill the engine very early this way.Second there is some problem with your cooling system check radiator and radiator cap and hoses.There might be some air in your cooling system.why fan is on auto mode if their is no thermostat.

23 years and my engine still works like a charm..The myth of thermostat has no definite answers..

fan cant work on auto if no thermostat is installed, coz there will be nothing sensing the temperature, plus boiling cant be listened, u might be mistaking any orifice for boiling sound. please check ur cooling system for air trap or any small leakage or malfunctioned radiator cap.
and do u pour more coolant often as you say your car boils coolant ??

I need some suggestions from senior members. My car is having some problem for last few days. It starts easily in the morning but within few seconds RPM starts to fluctuate and drops quickly and if let the accelerator go down below 2000 RPM it fluctuates and suddenly drops down to 0 and engine shuts down. After 3-4 minutes it settles down on idle but usually turns off and takes quite a few longer cranks to start with a lot of loud backfiring from air filter box. After few minutes of missing, backfires and as soon as if starts to warm up a little behaves normal.

BTW it has DOHC 16v, fan is direct and i think thermostat valve is not blocking the water, I am not sure but there might be no thermostat valve, not sure because i got it few months back and in summers I never checked. the electrician from high court road said let the fan direct. Its my first experience with Daewoo, but logically the fan should not be direct.
