The engine of my daewoo is consuming motor oil around 1 litre per 1000 km. Car has been in my use since new from 1992. Engine has clocked 197,000 kms maybe a little more as wheels have been upsized to 14 inch. Around 100,000 kms crank was skimmed and bearing alongwith oil pump was changed. Other than that no engine work.
The fuel consumption now is 10-11 km/litre. Fan is connected with a button and i switch it on at 25% on temp guage. No noise from engine or overheating.
Should i keep driving without overhauling and overhaul when the engine is dead or should i overhaul now, if i overhaul engine now what should be areas of attention, as i have read horror stories of people overhauling engines than facing engine problems soon after overhauling.
