extremely cold region.. freezing air coming form that unknown pass under which this lake exists dont allow you to be there without heavy clothes for long....

this lake exists on opposite side of trek to darkot pass. and is almost 30 to 45 mins drive from village

Beautiful valley indeed ! Can you provide us latest information for that side.

1 - How is the road condition from Gilgit to Gupis? and to Phander Doable on latest model Corolla?
2 - Are jeeps available at Gupis for Yasin valley? Is it doable in day trip?
3 - We are planning a trip to this valley in first week of September with 3 families including 2 kids. Do you think it will be too cold?

gilgit to gupis.. one big bad patch... corolla is fine on those routes. just be careful in bad patches

your corolla can take u up to hadar village where hawaldar lalak jan mizar is located. however, better to take jeep from yasin village or taus village in yasin valley.

no, it wont be extremely cold... it is doable with family (kids).

a suggestion:

reach khalti (PTDC) rest house (ahead gupis) my personal fav to stay with family.
from there reach taus (you can find rest houses there) stay there and roam around
explore valley from taus on hired vehicle/ jeep.

Just went through your thread as im planning tour to shandoor yasin & ishkoman valley.

Where to stay in yasin valley? Any contact numbers?
Can you elaborate time periods step by step please.. from gilgit to gahkuch.. gahkuch to ishkoman.. gahkuch to gupis & yasin valley.. to darkot.. yasin to phandar & shandoor?
What are the road conditions of ishkoman valley?

yasin is still unknown pristine.. very picturesque and exotic

you can reach yasin in a days ride from gilgit. metalled road no worries. there are plenty of rest houses in taus (major town ahead yasin village.)

detailed time wise route is expressed in the thread earlier if i am not forgetting. however, adding yasin is a must if you are visiting shandoor.. and above all, there is a hidden small lake under darkot pass at the end of yasin valley. must visit there.

ishkoman, yasin valleys have numerous rest houses you can stay at any, Considering yasin valley better t stay in taus village,, just ahead yasin village in yasin valley.

are you talking abt darkot lake,,, it is about half hour walk ahead darkot village.

there are resthouses in chatorkhand, you can also camp there

and plz dont mix yasin valley and ishkoman valley,,, darkot is the last settlement in yasin valley, and darkot lake lies ahead darkot village.

ishkoman valley is seperate,, you can find rest houses in chatorkhand,,, must to visit in ishkoman is virgoth jungle...

There is a small village ahead darkot.. named "Rawaat village. Any idea about that?

And in ishkoman.. how far can we go on own jeep?
How much does it require to reach proper area in ishkoman from gahkuch?

rawat village is the summer settlement towards darkot pass,, to reach lake you are not supposed to reach rawaat... ask any local for the lake in darkot village

jeep can take you till mitramdam or mitrandan (forgetting the name) and from there you can reach virgoth in a few hours trek,, 3 to 5 ... though its long i visited that region.

in yasin,,, rab ki zameen bohat bari aur khuli hai,, its safe u can camp anywhere,,, most recomended is in srroundings of darkot village...

1-Sir is it doable on honda 125?(2 persons on 1 bike and not much experience before it ,just visit nathiagali from wah this year on gs150.)
2-can one reached in single day from naran to darkut meadows ?
3-Are camps and food available in darkut meadows?
4-Plz mention main towns from gilgit to darkut
