thanks for your input. The volume control will be given to the users. The judge will not touch the system at all. If a user thinks his woofers are capable of surpassing a certain volume, then he is wellcome to increase the volume. If he acts silly and still surpasses his limits, then there is nothing u or anyone can do.
No body has to be a professional to hear a subwoofer distroting..

Pioneer is not a small company. They handed over us the responsibility after getting through trials and by testing us. We know what to do after healthy discussions we decided what to do. Keeping safety precautions in our mind. Second thing its not a pure SPL competition where most of the competitors will tune there sub to 50Hz to hit the maximum DB. Over here bass is not everything. People don't know much about bass also if you look what bass is. Everything is to be considered like neatness, safety devices like fuse wiring, mid(s), highs everything is considered. And Kevin already stated volume control is in hands of competitor. So no worries it's his/her wish how much maximum output he wants.

always remember, whenever somebody shows off his system, theres a 90% tendency he clips or overplays it , i have seen that happen.

and coupled with metering, everybody will do that, so i think it will be wise, if kevin or any deka tester , keeps volume in his hand.

We are not taking this responsibility because we don't know the electrical backup. Majority of the people don't know about battery ampere. So we can't keep the volume in our hand. Second thing we don't know the peak volume of the user according to him the peak volume is different from us. It differs from tuning to tuning.

n would that be fair to the user? wat if he blames for losing on us or what if something do get broke while the controls our in hands? its electronics n m sure u do understand how things work as we also do get into trouble sometimes coz we r also human beings just like anyone else n bound to do mistakes.what if that mistake occurs there?
its better to warn the user first n let him control his own setup rather than waiting on something wrong to happen n let the competitor blame us.
i m sure u would understand if u keep these things in mind. we cant force someone to do wat we want right! or else wahan terminator salvation ka new part hojayega lol. anyways hope u got the point mate

let the controls stay in the competitor's hand. you guys should have made them sign a paper that should any problem arise in their system, it will solely be their responsibility

every system has a different level of playing. some like it loud at 40 and some like it loud at 20. how would we know which system plays at wat level? only the owner of the system would know tht.

just take a small example, when someone comes to hear ur system, do u operate the volume or u tell the visitor to operate it? wat if u max is set at 20 and the visitor just comes and increases the volume all the way up to 40? then?

all control will be given to user , not to judge
user have to show the max of its output to the judge , their spl will be notice , including mids(vocals ) treble , sound balance with volume control etc etc
all thing will be noticed by judge
all we(compeditor) have to do is to Impress them anyhow , owner gets all control of his system setting
expect touching SPL meter

they judge is responsible to hook meter and test it out to measure SPL , the order judge will experience music , neatness , installation etc

@ all , yes kevin is right bahi ,
let suppose a guy came with his system
and know till 15 volume , the system will max out
and other guy came with some same equipment
and knows till 40 volume , his system will max out
so these things are known to user where he hits and till what volume he is getting best result

So in this case , if any thing happens to his system Owner will be responsible for his system not judge

simple , my system SPL mode max volume 35 , Loud : Low , EQ L 0 ,
balance sound mode , Loud = off , EQ = -2 , Volume 40
