They are pushing you to buy a new one because they want there product to be sold and painting cost will reach a different slab as compare to denting/painting.
If your car is insured then go for a new Boot(digi) new genuine boot will be installed and painted as new. Nobody will even recognize it.
The best part is you don't have to pay because you have already paid or paying your insurance company for car security.
Rest is upto you.

This kind of a dent can never be smoothly repaired. Its better to get it replaced if you want a factory type look. Despite the denting issue with this curved part. The paint finish won't be good. A new part when baked painted does give an almost as good as original paint finish.

Furthermore this area will get dull and crack after some time because of the body filler and putty/puttine underneath it. With this kind of a repair massive putty is a must

Usually dealerships don't do this kind of a thing so don't worry. They will give you an original part

Match each and every bolt, seal of ur original trunk with the other trunk.. They should be 100% same.. If they are not then something is fishy

Just repair the only dented area, silver is difficult to match bit many mechanics are available in market who can repair this.

its insured bro, get it replaced and color will match, you are at Honda wtever we call them but mechanics they have are well experienced

Your insurance would also agree to it. And you can probably fetch one with genuine paint.

Bro replace it with original one... no need to repair it as it will be an eye sore regardless besides in Pakistan we dont posses that much tools or skilled labor at most places... all they will do is filling and then paint which will not match exactly because of different base and while in the quest of matching it , they might end up using lacquer on fenders as well...

and in my experience no matter what they say 80% of the times due to poor quality of lacquer the paint becomes yellowish and also gets faded...

I have an experience of getting my ex car painted from 3s as well as local painters ...

since your car is new so with new part & new paint matching wont be an issue....just make sure the part is original and from honda because insurance people are notorious in such things ... to save cost they have inside settlements... recently i got my friends swift painted from 3S and the parts and quality pf paint is pathetic ...

Besides who says 3s doesnt carry non genuine parts? they have thailand china and what not

You need to understand that insurance gives a fix rate to 3s which is very low when compared to original rates charged by 3s ... for example the fix rate given to suzuki 3s for 1 part paint is 2200 - 2500 and to toyota 3s its 3000 ...and in this amount you can imagine what sort of work and material will be used by 3s

best way is to ask the supervisor that do the best job possible and if there is any difference you will pay it on your own ..

Also request them if they can get the part painted from honda (very difficult though but worth trying since honda factory is in lahore) ... that will give you piece of mind as well as quality work and in case not possible then go to a 3s which has bake paint facility ...

3s doesnt automatically means quality of work... i have had experience of various 3 s dealerships and believe me work was pathetic

Replaced fender and door on my friends mehran from 3s ... parts were original so no issues ...color matched like a charm since it was white color ..

That's why I am fan of white colour. .easy to match ...

Fender of swift changed from local denter. ..Fender was fine paint quality was poor ... color was metallic grey ...it matched but turned yellowish after a year. ..

If you are going by the value of your car so value has already been effected even if your repair this part ...color matching will be issue regardless ...with filling and all it will make it more difficult ... so why not go with a new part. ..atleast you won't have to look it n think oh it got hit from here ..or there is a filling inside or the paint is cracking. .

My two months old corolla also got hit from back and trunk got a dent so one of the pakwheeler friend @nifiii brought me to this thread ...he was also of the opinion that I should replace ithe but in my case the dent is not so big so my insurance company wont give me replacement. .. or else I would have done the same

I got a hood changed on Civic Reborn from Honda 3S under insurance. The hood they replaced was original with seals and they even put stickers on it like factory fitted. Proper seals and luckily the paint job was so flawless that while selling no ine could spot its not genuine paint. I had to tell myself its a repaint.

Though such paint jobs are luck but still the paint job if done properly on a new part can be close enough. Never possible on a puttine filled repair part.

You iust need to point out before hand and insist them that you want original part and there is nothing much to worry about.

I restored an 8th Gen last year and there is a PW thread on it as well. As long as its a bake paint on a proper smooth surface its not easy to spot by an ordinary eye. I am posting a few pictures here as well. The car is full repaint except roof. The old teubk was not properly repaired at the same curve which can't be properly repaired in your case as well so I replaced it with an original just like new non repainted before trunk fron Bilal Gunj just to get this proper look and finish. Here are the pictures. Its been exactly an year but the paint is still amazing to look even today because the material was proper, surfaces were smooth and it was done in a bake paint booth.

My official company alloted 2015 City trunk also got damaged while driver reversed it into a tree. Was replaced and painted by 3S and even today its hard to spot. Though a careful observation can disclose its not a factory painted part but still the look, presence amd appearance is flawless and that's what matters. No matter what these cheaply repaired and painted parts turn pale ugly and horrible within months.

Bro don't get confused so much just go for a 3S repair. There is a reason majority supports them. I admit sometimes the experience doesn't turn out perfect but overall results matter.

As always, prices are insane around. Have sold & bought many Reborns. When selling, you don't get a good offer & when buying, you can't find a good car in reasonable price. Repainted cars are also overpriced. I'd rather get a scratched faded car which hasn't been earlier repainted instead of buying an already repaint…

Hope this will help you get to the decision of getting a proper repair and paint job without compromises.

If you are in Lahore and you want contact of my painter let me know. He will replace a non repaired trunk from Bilal Gunj and he is good at paint work. He will give you guarantee of paint work as well till you are satisfied with the results. But this Bilal Gunj scenario and private workshop job will not be covered by insurance and cost you around 15k in all. Upto 10k for a flawless used trunk and 5k for the paint and labour charges of his workshop.

But of your car is insured, a 3S specially Honda Fort Queens Road being first option or Secondly Honda Point Airport Road is rather even better than this private repair to get the job done. By all means avoid Honda City Sales Kalma Chowk and Gateway doesn't have adequate support for this kind of a job.
