Guys, I am planning for a trip to Cholistan this weekend and would like to have the following info:

What is the procedure to get permission to enter Derawar Fort and who will issue the permission letter?
How is the road from AhmedPur to Derawar?
What is the easiest way of getting to Channan Pir? I heard it is near Yazman. On this lag, I want to use public transport.

Answers:

1- u have to go to Dera Nawab and meet a guy named Ramzan (hope he is still there) and take him with the keyz to the fort....
2- the road is single but not very bad (i went in 2006 so this mite not be accurate)
a local person can guide u better.
3- i havemt been to Channan Pir but i can tell u that the festivities will start in feb so its better u go then .....

Still we need to get permission to get in Derawar fort ?
Somebody told me that there is a secret way to enter fort with out any permission !

No permission required for Derawar Fort. The Fort is opened daily on 9am to evening...
Road was under construction... in Mar 2010. (I hope road will be still not completed) but its not a significant hurdle. Leave early from Bahawalpur/A.P East
No idea about channan pir... Waisay better to take your own vehicle...

Thanks Rana Sb for the helpful response. One more question, I also want to stop by Multan Qila. On friday what is the quickest route to get to the qila and then continue to AP east? I want to avoid traffic.

Just returned from 3 days trip to Derawar and Uch. Fort is only open on Sundays and is locked on week days.

sorry for late reply... I just saw the PW....

Any way if you are coming from Lahore side... Leave the highway at Multanby Pass and continue to Chowk Kumharan... From Chowk Kumharan Take the Masoom Shah Road upto Doulat Gate... Then Hussain Agahi.. From Hussain Agahi take a little right turn leave the main road... and get upto the Fort... and then turn left and continue upto parking at other end of Qila..

If you coming from Bahawalpur side... Better to come to Multan General Bus Stand and then continue to chowk Kumharan and then use above route...
