Diesel Pajero cold starting issue

contact these folks and ask if they will repair the injection pump, they are the best in the business. I have used their services a lot. The pump and injectors are calibrated and certified. The facilities are supremely clean and dust free and their equipment is very good.

For information sake: Your engine uses a Bosch VE type fuel injection pump clone. (if they ask).

check all tune items correctly and note each work on a book.

meaning - get it to factory specs. check and adjust valve clearance, check and adjust pump timing and nozzle break pressure, the leak on the pump is a cause of vibration too as the pump has frothy fuel in it.

So, changed today the timing belts, timing belt bearings, pump timing adjusted, valve clearance/tappet adj, brand new nozzles set(Denso) installed, all drive belts changed, intercooler serviced, fuel filter chaged etc. Whole day spent but injection pump service/calibration is left. Hope to get it service and all remaining works done soon Insha Allah. Pick has improved too much...now running like a new engine. Vibration of engine decreased too.

So, once again need suggestion. No response from the above mentioned link. Should I go for injection pump service from a reputed diesel lab, because there is some leakage in it?

thats very strange. I only used their services because no other shop Ive ever visited in Karachi spoke any sort of sense. They just open up the part, clean it, slap it back and only take responsibility till the engine starts - they dont care about fuelling, idle control etc.

Thats why I wont suggest any ustadee unless you interview the ustaad and make sure he know's what he's doing.

I tried phone numbers of rawalpindi office, no response by email even.
BTW, Once I was in Karachi and serviced my Nissan Sunny CD17 diesel pump, and it was a good experience as long as I kept it. I want to know whether pajero's pump is a different type? All are advising me not to disturb it.

its the same VE pump. They are advising due to the "shops" messing it up. These cummins people do all the work in karachi. e.g. if you gave your pump to them, they will send it to karachi for calibration.

Today checked the pump. The leakage was outside the pump in the return line. A pipe had a loose grip so changed it and now no leakage.

Today changed all mounts of gear and engine and now there is some vibration while engine is idling. Actually, search for Genuine mounts failed even after roaming much here and there on many shops/kabariya in Rawalpindi so Thailand made (best available in rawalpindi) were installed. Will this vibration reduce with time or not?

please share what is net result after swapping thailand made egine mounts, how many did you changed engine only? or the transmission's as well?

2x side mounts of engine and one big mount for tranmission...these are Thailand made. But one small mount for 4x4 is local made because it was not available even Thai made.

There is no one in Lahore who can adjust and tune these pumps and injectors

Thanx sir. What is the device/assembly installed on upper side of fuel filter? The mechanic was saying it a "lifty pump" or a "vaccum pump".

the unit on top of the fuel filter is a prime pump, its only used to prime the big round filter and injection pump, you can install a unit from whatever you want on it, shehzore, sunny, patrol, doesnt matter.

The vacuum pump on the engine is the part that the brake booster suction pipe connects to. (look on the alternator)
