yaar the link that Ghuncha posted was Topic i posted earlier......
thats the 4AGE 16V and 20V engine...
i think u are confused about division of valves per cam...so its simple..yaar

one 16V Twin cam engine...
8 Valves per cam..so on Twin Cam there are two cams
8x2=16V
simple 1 cam for intake valves and 1 cam for exhaust vales..

on Twin Cam 20V
its bit change...
12V on one cam
8V on one cam
12V are for Intake and 8V for exhaust...
12+8=20V

on 2E corolla engine there's 12V on one cam...so consider that that one 12V cam and one 8V cam is placed togeather to make 20V engine.....
4AGE 4 Throttle got 12V for intake and 8Valves for Exhaust...

Very nice question,
the diffrence b/w both 2E and 20V intake cam is huge,u cant match a SoHC engine cam with a DOHC, the cam i 2E controls the intake valves as well as exhaust valves, which mean it has the lubes for both,
which is 3 valve per/cylender. 2 intake 1 exhaust, if you u just look at this 2E cam for intake purpose,
its 8 valve cam, the remaining 3 cam lubes are for eshaust,

In 20V intake cam there are 3 valves controlled by the cam,they all are for intake, plus the VVT is engege by that cam, so this is another duty performed by the cam, it has no link with echaust valve system,
20 valve cam controls 16 valve, have 15 lubes,
break up,
3 valve per/cyld =12
1 vvt valve/cyld =4
total =16
while the 2E have only 8 lubes to control intake system, now answer ur self,

Lubes= the position on Cams which press valve,

i am let him consider that 12V on one cam and 8V on one...thats the all point....
no need to go on lubues or anything......
just wanna let him considering 12V on one cam is my point sir....nothing to go about how they controlled....

1295cc, Sohc , 12 valve , 40 to 50 HP engine, Not for racing, made in 1984.

from an engine.

4AGE-20v, DOHC. 1600cc, VVT , ITB'S . made for extrame racing, high reponsive, 160hp. can go easily till to 220 hp with few changing in INternals.

I dont know about you, But its like compearing a 70cc bike with any 700 bike.

as my Info said....2E was rated at 71hps......with 100Nm of Torque.....and yeah 4AGE was rated around 160-165Hps...and here we all know that 2E was not a racing engine while 4AGE 4 Throttle was made for it......
again i said..... i am not comparing the engines.....
i am just telling about cam designs bro..........to let him think about 20V cam setup thats all........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and saying that no one knows here about engines..
so u are absolutely wrong...

Hey thanks guys for the information. I was confused about the valves on the cylinders. so you guys did a very good job.

Another question, How much a 20V will cost me, this guy in Shoba bazar(peshawar) wants 45000 for it. Is it a good deal, should i go for it. A friend of mine "Qasim" thinks it a good deal and i should go for it..

By the way the car i am thinking about will be a 86 corolla

i dont get why you guys are mentioning the term 'valves per cam'.....arent valves rated per cylinder.

an SOHC and DOHC engine can both have four cylinders with four valves per cylinder....how does it matter?

They way we mentioned is same as u guys are asking, the diffrence is of knowledge,

I have mentioned that part but in a diffrent way,
its 5 valve/cylender,
4 cylender=20 valves,

Valves dose not depends open SOHC or DOHC, u can find 16 valves in both Sohc and DOHC,
The diffrence is in performance, efficiency, power gain, less loses, Etc,

2 are always batter then one,

As far as the engine price is concered, Its a bit expensive,
Try to nigociate and bring it to 40k,

and person who are still confused...so yaar its 3 intakes and 2 exhaust per cyl...
3 Intake 2 Exhaust 3+2=5
5 per cyl.....thats 4 cyl engine
5x4=20V......got that...?
i can't have much easier way to explain....
anywayz.....4 Throttle on 86 Rolla....that a nice combination and many ppl also did that transplant earlier on 86 rolla like i think Palaykhan had got 86 corolla with 4 Throttle ST.....i am not sure wheather he own it now or sell that......but thats nice deal in 45K......
what are the availabilities in that 45K.....
ECU harness tranny or axles or other stuff also......like mounts......
expert mechanic is needed for that all.....as you can find...
now pesh PW members...its now up to uou to guide salman on right path....

Once again, thanks for the clarification. I am going to get the Trany, Axles and wiring harnesses with it. I am also trying to get a weeks warranty on the engine after installation but i am not sure if he is gonna go for that.
