Asif bhai! i am unable to find any suitable map of Kumrat valley. can u plz guide me about locations of Jandrai, Thal, Jahaz banda, Kumrat valley etc with the help of some sketch. even a hand drawn sketch would be enough.

yara jandrai mujhay bhi nai mila tha but its just 30 mins jeep ride from Tall so its not far.... wo zandrai kay nam say hai i think..... u can find it .....

akhri time par shamil hua tha plan may kisi ko kia layjata hahahahahahhahaha

porters were asking for Rs1000 per day but we negotiated at Rs800 per day... we had 4 porters.....

yes i also got permission after many attempts.... actually my army friend was going along so it became easy to get permission....

u knew someone in army so ur lucky cause wwhen we wanted to go to minimarg from chilum they didnt let us go . we had no army jan pehchan . mai itni duur jakr bhi na dekh saki . i was so sad

hahahaha koi baat nai g i have been sad there many times b4.. yes i had many contacts in army luckily but stil cudnt go..... insha Allah next year...

that area is borderland so there is all army there also due to firing across LOC they dont allow any tourist there..... majboori hai fauj ke bhe we shud understand that

well this is according to my own experience and may vary from person to person...

on the third day of the trip the real deal trek was to begin. now 6 of the 11 member squad was to return to dir and back to lahore but they changed their mind and wanted to go to Badwai/Thalo pass into kalam and then to mahudand lake etc.... this meant that they were to be given camp and supplies for the journey ahead.... this took alot of time and we started of on the trek at about 12pm..... this meant that it would be a short trekking day for us..... with all set we started on this trek....our destination being "Khar Banda". a trek which would take approximately 5 hours......

the initail portion of the trek was along a level path through the forest of "Karh Banda" another settlement.... a short trek from here leads to the Karh waterfall which is quiet large as well........

suddenly we turned left into a narrow gorge which we named "Khar gorge". this started with a steep descend into the base of the gorge to the Khar nalla then rises sharply to reach the Khar banda settlement. the descend is harder than the climb though.... the trek is lush green with forested patches along the way and plenty of water available.... we reached Khar banda at abt 5 pm where we stayed in a local hut.... we were treated to goat milk tea. we were amazed to see that here no one spoke urdu or kohistani language only pashto was understood..... our guides/porters set up camp on the roof of the hut and we slipped into our sleeping bags after dinner .........
