day 4 marked another late start but this time the reason was desi ghee kay parathay .... wo bananay aur kkhanay may kafi time lag gia tha...... the trekking started with a steep climb along a forested ridge (nakkka) of Khar banda. This climb lasted for 2 hours.....and lead us to the first real settlement called "Doonga Banda".... this was the base camp for the first lake trek as well... at doonga banda we were greeted kindly by the locals and they offered us Bread, butter, milk and lassi which we readily accepted:P
after a short stay we moved on to the first lake trek.... we had the luxury of leaving our rucksacks at doonga banda just carrying some basic items with us....
we started the ascend to the first lake at 12.30 pm which was a steep rocky climb half of the way but then leveld out to a meadow. this took us 1 hr and 15 mins and we reached lake 1.45 pm..... the first lake was awsum and is henceforth known as "doonga Banda lake" although it is known by many other names we deemed this to be most suitable.... the lake has a circular main body with a small watershed sort area in front... it is a medium sized lake..... we spend abt half an hour at the lake then it started to rain quiet steadily.....
we started our return journey and reached Doonga banda at abt 2.45 pm....
after this we moved ahead to enter the realm of Shar... Shar area consists of 3 settlements called
1- Kaat Dheri
2- Misperhghal
3- Shar Banda
at abt 40 mins walk along a gentle slope we reached Kaat Dheri which means "Stone Pile". naturally the area had many boulders around..... a further 30 mins walk lead us to Misperhghal which means "center aur middle" banda. this was a bigger settlement. we camped a little further than Misperhghal nearer to the BC of second lake ..... we reached Misperhghal at abt 4.30 pm.........
