it is normal bro ... i have 2000 civic .... t valve removed and fan auto .... temp needle stays at middle .... dont worry but its better to install t valve

it would have been normal if fan was auto. but it is direct and no thermostat valve still needle remains at mid all the time after 5km drive

in ur case overcool means that needle will come closer to "C" mark

the 82 deg t-valve costs not more then 500 rs.

more then 90% of BLOWN HEAD GASKETS are caused due to leakage of water throw radiator or hose pipes . on board temperature gauge can not show any sign of water loss . with this ADD-ON we can take control on this situation .

I have a Baleno 2002 model JXR , From 2006 till today , its very good. For Baleno you need to understand the basic points

1) After some minutes of engine start , its temperature needle should come to half.Its a must for a Baleno to perform at its good. Don't mix it with corolla , that is different from Baleno.

2) You should have Thermostat valve in there , because it controls the water in and out flow between radiator and the Engine.Even in hot weather don't listen to so called mechanics who say to remove it.See if company has fitted it , it have a purpose.

3) Do not make your fan to direct , bypassing its auto function.Its made for a purpose to run only when the temperature in radiator raises too much , so don't be touchy or over sensitive with this issue.

Summarizing the above points , Don't get sensitive with temperature needle at half , its normal. Install the thermostat and make the fan to auto settings its important for baleno to work well.If your temperature is going over half the needle ( Near Red line ) in summers , Get your radiator cleaned and check all the water pipes for any leakage.

Dont mix your Baleno with corolla , Baleno is made to drive in heat and it loves heat while corolla may not.

i have two cars. corolla 1982. no thermostate(rear WHeel Drive)
Baleno 2000 . no thermostat with directed fan...

my corolla never reaches half point. it remains at 40% of the gauge..with ac

but baleno reaches half point very soon, even with direct fan...on AC
i have heard and checked with the authorised suzuki dealer at multan road...that there is some computer fault in the baleno infact all balenos (correct me if im wrong baleno drivers). its temperature gauge never rises above 50%... i had a bet with one of their mechanics. he simply switched off the fan(radiator wala) and pressed the accelerator hard for tow minutes... but the temp remained same...he was ashamed and gave silly excuses that the sensor ya needle farigh ho gayee hai. but at the same time there electrician said that they both are working fine.....
????? now im confused

i dont know k after half way car ka temp 50% hai yaa above 50%. the needle never shows the real temp after half way...
so i have to keep the needle below 50% so as to obtaine the correct temp indication...

agar thermostat lagwaon ga to fauran half pe ajai gi.. and will create alot of risk??
help me??????

frist of all u chack temp via dignostic tool dignostic tool can tell tempure is working or not second u chack cap of rediator putt the termos volve in car if your car fitted 02 sansor than u cannot take out termos out becouse it consume much petrol with out termos volve

I bought Daewoo Racer few months ago and I found this forum recently. Just read about your very old but detailed description about disadvantages of running radiator fan on direct.
My problem is that two months ago there was a little vibration in engine but heat needle was normal (much below the mid point even on long drive, that was winters). Mechanic told me that vibration is due to the reason that tappets are tight and rings are little weak. He asked me to replace Head Gasket and rings for better functioning. So I followed him and he did it. Within a week thick black smoke was coming from silencer. He opened the engine again and said "Oh the rings installed were not genuine" and then he ordered and reinstalled new set of genuine one. The running of the engine has now completed 700 km after new rings. The car is running fine but the heat rises to the mid point (without AC) even after two km drive and stays there or sometimes it drops a little and then reaches to half/mid. Radiator (large one double nali type) was checked and cleaned by radiator wala, no leakage. Fan is on direct. Temp Sensor Gauge is new (genuine) and installed last week. Tomorrow he will open and see the water pump (Water Body). According to the mechanic, the thermostat valve is already removed (by previous owner) and he says it is good without it.
I am in Kharian (Army). The mechanic is an expert in BMW and Mercedes (England Return). There is no Daewoo expert nearby.
Please advise me what should I do for smooth run especially in summers. Thanx. My number is also given if you find time to speak.

Sir the mechanic is ripping you.
Black smoke is due to rich air/fuel mixture.
In other case blue or white smoke can be seen if engine is burning oil/water.
There is some problem with the car with direct fan and no thermostat the needle shouldn't even climb C point on heat gauge. Check the water pump and any metal pipes in the system if they are rusted change them.
Sort that problem out and fit in T.Valve and make the fan auto fill in good quality coolant that is how the car should be.
And last don't go again to that mechanic who told you that it is ok to have no T.Valve and Auto fan. That doesn't know any thing about car's and he is calling him self BMW and Mercedes expert
