If so, when will that happen?

according to todays dawn newspaper,
duty on import of cars upto 800cc- 50%
800-1000cc -55%
1000-1500cc -60%
1500-1800cc -75%
above 1800cc -100%
PLUS regulatory duty of 50%

so according to this, a used honda accord estate version 2006 from uk (Details)

will cost:
7000pounds
duty-7000 pounds
regulatory duty-3500 pounds

total- 17500 pounds

round up price of car including duty in pkr-24 lacs

am i correct here?

i ve read the article but as I asked before things are clear exept the regulatory duty in the article you mentioned there is a statment

as per customs tariff, there is a 50 per cent duty on import of cars of up to 800cc, 55 per cent on 800 to 1,000cc, 60 per cent on 1,000 to 1,500cc, 75 per cent on 1,500 to 1,800cc and 100 per cent on cars exceeding 1800cc, along with regula- tory duty of 50 per cent.

What does it mean???

Hi All,

There are two types of duty structure allowed by FBR for the import of used cars. One is normal regime and other is special regime. In the special regime there is a fixed duty amount based on engine displacement (cc) so a 1300cc car has a flat duty of $11,000, in addition there is a relaxation of 1% depreciation per month. So if your car is 60 months old (full five years) then your duty can be reduced to a maximum of 50%. so in that case duty will be $5,500

In the normal regime, for a used car having 1601 cc has 75% duty, 17% sales tax, 5% WHT & 1% FED

I was going through FBR web found that policy there to check custom for non-Asian make according to normal regime for used Mercedes Benz C-class. I have checked there new prices from Parkers.co.uk

Custom Duty on Value Assessed
(75% of assessed value) 2032593

(50 months old car with 1 % deprciation max 50%) 1016296
(17% Sales tax) + 172770
= 1189066

(5% Income tax) + 59453
= 1248519

(1% Special Federal Excise Duty) + 12485
Total tax = 1261005

Is there any expert who can guide me that did I get it right .
