Hassan bhai, this is one unique thing which u did. BRAVO. I think i have never heard of someone painting his veh by himself. And this needs a big heart. I am sure with this approach u have proved to be a genuine/ janooni/ pagal type lover of yr veh and that's what really matters.

Thanks for your comments. I was using the air from the spray gun to blow away dust and debris from sanding the surface.

Levin so far we have spent about Rs.15,000 on materials. That includes paint, thinner, lacquer, sandpapers, polish, compound and rags.
The compressor and spray gun were borrowed so no cost for that. I still have 2 coats of paint and lacquer to go so in the end it might come to about Rs.20,000 including the final rubbing and polish.
Your starlet shouldn't cost as much as far as materials are concerned because of the size difference. I'm guessing you can do it much less cost than mine. Your surface area is much less so shouldnt be too expensive.

Ideally as I mentioned earlier, its all about the pressure that the compressor produces. If you're getting a pressure of above 70-80psi, you're good to go. Also make sure the spray gun is the right gauge. I would advise a 12/14 gauge. In addition it is extremely important to make sure the gun is clean before you start. Run the spray gun with ONLY thinner first, then proceed with the paint. This will clean the gun and not create blobs when you paint.

So after much thought and deliberation....the added expense to get the denting done was made. This of course meant that the painting process had to be done again, which is fine since 2 more coats had to be done anyway.

Ideally the denting should have been done first, but such is the case when it comes to being overly excited. The paint job was coming out well, so I thought why waste the effort of paint and might as well get the denting done too so that the final outcome is good. Lesson learnt!

Luckily the denting cost only came to about Rs.5000 and 2 days of work. Here are the pics...
This sets my time table back a bit but I intend on finishing this whole process by Saturday Inshallah.

Yes there are small dents that need to be fixed, i was quoted 25,000 total cost, dent , paint complete body work . work done in 12 days approx and probably another 10,000 for hollow alloys.

I am just hesitating because local traffic is so bad, others put door dings from carelessness, and in past i just had concentrated on car's mechanical repair work only.
