Sorry about not updating this thread. Lets see what we shared the last time...
The bug was already repainted and all but we had to work on it a second time to rectify the boo-boos made by Babar and ably hidden out of sight by the painter using tins of filler. Even though the instructions were clear about welding shut the holes for the trim as the owner did not want the bug to have any trim the holes were filled using filler and painted over. The result was the reappearing holes as the filler broke and fell thru the holes. All of this was redone, the gap between the hood and the body reduced to a minimum by panel beating the sides and the hood itself, the fenders were panel beaten a second time to correct the lines and the edges.
The body was placed and attached to the chassis without using any seal !!! A new German body to chassis seal was used and polyurethane sealant used to ensure that no water or even moisture gets in or between the body and chassis.
