Does corolla 2D Saloon 2005 come with ABS brakes?

@AmeerUsman Thanks brother! I'm totally up for a 2D now, considering I find one in good condition. Diesel indeed is easier to drive. Our old nissan 2D used to climb all gobbar hills even while idling. Thanks for the advice.

A 2007 2.0d 72k km on odo with ac gives 12km/l + every time in karachi city,dont know about highway,just love the torque u can pick car in 3rd gear in situation where 2e engine indus corolla needs to be picked in 1st gear,though a wish i had is that it had 6 forward manual instead of 5 forward as the engine has got the ability but gears restrict u to go above 110 in 5th gear to maintain good average(at 110 u can feel the car is rev quite high in 5th gear ).

@ameerusman Salam bruv! finally bought 2D saloon 2003. A little old but the paint is mostly original and the engine is okay. The drive is well smooth and there are no rattling noises apart from one problem. The gear stick makes quite irritanting and loud 'tuk tuk' metal noise when changing gears. My mechanic is adamant, he strongly believes that it's the genuine noise of corolla and can't be reduced by any means... is that true? I hate that noise, it spoils the whole fun of driving. The best cure is that you drive any other car and compare the annoying noise with that.There is a very normal sound (tak tak) that I also feel in every manual tranny Corolla,even a 100kms driven on clock.

Sir, first of all congrats on buying new ride. I do not own 2.0D nowadays but I remember there was no such sound with gear shifts of mine. It was 2001 model Indus shape. May be there is some issue with this model. But as far as I know, the Engine and gear is same in all models of 2.0D from 1994~2011, made by Indus motors.

its got the same oil change interval of 5000 kms and has a lot of torque at low rpm, you dont need to downshift from higher gear, just press the go pedal and the car moves like a train.

Different choices for different people, you seem to like high rev engines. The quality of diesel fuel in Pakistan is the same as sold all over the mideast - this quality issue is a tale told by mechanics to cover up their lack of skill.

Use Toyota Diesel oil, summer 4K and winter 5K change schedule, mine with light foot does 16 - 17 Km/litre with AC and on long it goes upto 21 Kms/ltr. I normally travel from Attock to Hyderabad, 1200 Kms, it takes 1.25 fuel tank =)

@ameerusman @rizwanfao I took my 2D to long route first time today, it did a little above 19km/ltr. I still can't believe it. Although I drove between 80 to 85 km/hr. I think it's the most economical speed of corolla 2D, isn't it!!

That clacking sound is the gear select lever noise, it can only be helped with a slight dressing with "toyota glycol based grease" - its an elusive red colored grease from toyota that is used on rubber and plastic parts and is water/alcohol based. You can apply sunroof mechanism lubricating paste but that is also quite rare in Pakistan - hence everyones' broken sunroof.

The noise is pretty loud on the "cow" rollas as the assembly is pretty poor.

a light black smoke is normal on acceleration.
