BS man. TOTAL BS. This is what I hate about bro-trainers in Pakistan. They have absolutely no idea about the diet or executing proper form. The basic reason why he told you to eat boiled potatoes is because potatoes have carbs which provide you with energy. No rocket science. Its like asking someone on a strict diet to eat a slice of a vege pizza since it has a good dose of vegetables, carbs and proteins, but is it healthy? Absolutely not because it comes with huge amount of sodium, cholesterol etc
Nobody in this world would recommend eating boiled potatoes, they are considered extremely unhealthy in bodybuilding. Everyone would ask you to eat Sweet Potatoes. I think your trainer meant to say Sweet potatoes rather than just potatoes
Neurological focus, neurotransmitter focus, you get much better focus during the training if you dont take carbs preworkout. Carbs are supposed to be consumed AFTER your workout. Carbs is a POST WORKOUT meal, not a preworkout meal. Eating potatoes before workout gives you an insulin spike. You shouldnt be working out with a spiked insulin. You want to have a proper neurological focus during your workout.
