i used to be very skinny, 55kg at 5ft10in. i started body building two years ago, but i kept wasting my time with stupid routines. then after alot of researching and learning, i finally started to do it properly. now im 77kg at the same height. the thing to remember is, bodybuilding is 30% training and 70% nutrition. jab tak aap ye baat nahi samjho ge, ull keep wasting your time. aik anda extra khanay se kuch nai banta. start pe thori se improvement ho ge magar soon it will stop. you need to eat ALOT of food. as an example, nowadays i eat 6 eggs on my gym days. and they are extra, not part of my meals. i also drink 1 litre of milk everyday.you dont need that much at the start obv but increase your intake as you progress. you need to consume as much food as possible. try to focus on things with alot of protein like all kinds of meats, and milk.
now for the training part: do not waste your time on isolation exercises. focus on compound exercises. isolation are those that train only one body part. compound are those that train multiple body parts. examples, isolation: bicep curls. compound: chinnups, these target biceps, forearms, lats and back.
similarly, bench press, it trains your chest and triceps and many other small muscles. i see skinny kids in my gym wasting time on bicep curls and then they wonder why they are still skinny after 6 months. i used to be like that, doing bicep curls everyday lol. but no growth. growth came when i forgot about curls and started doing weighted chinnups and heavy rows for the back. similarly, gowth for triceps came when i left isolation for triceps and instead focused on my chest. also, stick to free weights and stay away from machines.
