Here's a list of car care myths, to add more to your knowledge about maintaining your car.
1) Premium Gas is better than Regular Grade
More expensive selections are not necessarily better for your car or mileage. Premium or high octane gas is typically only recommended for high-compression engines. It's still best to follow your car's manual. If it says 87, there are usually only insignificant benefits if you go higher.
2)Change your oil every 3000 miles
Modern vehicles can usually last for 7,500 miles before an oil change is necessary. Again, it's best to check your owner's manual for details, but in most cases, It's possible to go above and beyond 3,000 miles before getting an oil change. Some cars can even last as long as 15,000 miles before needing one. This one can save you a lot of money spent on unnecessary oil changes.
3) Overusing Interior Care Products Can Cause Damage
Car care products designed to clean your car's interior are meant to keep your car in great condition. The myth that overusing these car care products would damage your interior and dry your leather seats and shrink your plastic panels is absolutely absurd. If there's anything your car care products would do, it's the opposite of these things.
