yr there is another option besides cutting the springs and coilovers , they are called "Lowering Springs" they are not costly and don't have the disadvantages of a cutted springs as their coils are designed to lower and are complete.. Well your ride your decision. Although im not with ya on the cutting part , the end result is looking pretty cool

cutting the springs is dangerous, and it DOES mess up vehicle dynamics regardless of what our local ustaads tell you.

i bought a set of drop springs for my 96 civic from the UK for only £60 so it should still be an option for you. however either way you'll have to install urethane bump-stops on your dampers and replace your bushes (i'm speaking from experience).

as for the looks, it's your car and you can do what you want. mine was about this low too and back then it was what i wanted so i didn't care what people said. i just urge you to do it the right way (mentioned above). the cut springs can cause handling issues AND can come out of their locations when/if the car hits a bump.

These springs are designed to compress to a certain degree to allow for comfort. Even with two people in the back, it would weigh enough to lower the car further by an inch or a half easily (at the back).
Seriously consider installing drop springs as Storm just mentioned as they are designed to allow for far less compression, making the ride stiffer and propotionatly lowering the car itself. The difference in the drive you feel at the moment may just be a placebo and for any real performance gain, either opt for stiffer springs or coilovers. There's a reason why everyone here's repeating the same thing bro.
A brand new set of springs for this civic should cost around 7-9k, used around 4-5 and if you know what to look for, you might be able to find a set from Shershah for under 3k.

@ Poster your choice buddy but your suspension will be taking a lot of stress and putting a dent in your wallet every now and than.

im working on my car's suspension cost. its minimum $1150 without shipping? for tein coilovers its above 2k usd without shipping

where are you getting new coilovers at that rate? tht donest even come close to cost of manufacture.

yr abt to say goodbye to yr shocks and bushings. i had a similar car like yrs,, whn bushings went loose, i couldnt go above 90km/hr without reciting sura fatiya nonstop, it was tht dangerous
