Almost all high end stuff is under rated, and can take much more power than they are rated for, provided the power is clean and unclipped plus the filters are set properly. In fact, speakers (especially midbass) perform much better when supplied 1.5-2x more than RMS, better dynamics during transients and helps over come the harsh car environment.

Laid back indeed. Smooth and mellow sound, and at times a little too mellow..have to wait for the break in to test them in their full potential..
BUT
When i compare the same tracks on the focals, one very big difference is the amount of detail that focal offers and the precision of staging. The fine detail and the ambiance on focals is unmatched and when talking about staging, the focal speakers just melt away leaving behind pure sound that envelopes you and you dont get a feel that you are listening to the music from speakers, its as if you are right there with the music,......

Plus, focal midbasses are among the best on this planet....

But with all due respect, i think the system could've been fitted in a way that could conceal more, preserving the beauty of the cabin, so as to prevent big-tym cutting damage to the doorpanels.

i.e. CrossOvers Under seats/Near Firewall, High Tweeter on the Dash, and Mids somewhere near front dash,or in custom made mounts on the sides of the gear console?

I might be wrong since i'm very junior compared to you and no experience of 3-way components (only used 2way till now), but thats just my 2-cents..

Thanks for the appreciation and your concerns too sir. The thing is, you can either go for a stealth install or you can go for the best possible acoustic install.. In my case, i will choose the latter any day of the week.
Putting the tweeters high up on the dash is the worst possible place one can install the tweeters. Glass is an enemy of high frequencies and staging cues and the close proximity of windshield is a welcome invitation to the comb filtering...
mids on the sides of gear console? think for a second what impact that would have on the sound and stereo image? There are so so many other factors to consider while installing a particular set of speakers and you can look them up on the net but eventually it will come down to two choices. Looks or the sound? I prefer sound.

Yes you're very right, the mids would be quite dampened by putting them near the gear console...

i was thinking of looks first, but then you've made me think about the sound.

and would the Windscreen make that much of an impact on the high-notes? i got an alpine install in my city components 2way - (SPG-17CS i think) up frnt and 6x9's at back. my tweeters are mounted on the corners of the dash near the windscreen, do u think i shud relocate them?

Besides, if u got spare panel phir to tension he nae ...again, awesome system brother
