Drum Brakes issue

Dear All, I have a Fj40 with stock brake setup. for some time the brakes were a bit ineffective so i got it serviced. The drum and pads were fine and all the pistons were working normally. but the brakes were having the same issue.
While applying hard brakes only rear wheels lock and the vehicle slides ( trust me its a horrifying experience). getting a disc brake setup is one solution but till that what can be the issue?

Check your brakes for wrong connections. The front should get locked first.

Till then drive slow to avoid any emergency braking.

Loosen the adjustment on the rear brakes. Do this first.

Did everything..... Even reversed the connection...... There was a leak in the diaphragm of the booster so got it replaced.... Got the adjustment loosen but still the freaking rear brakes lock a bit early ....the pressure from the Pistons seems fine so the last resort is to change the Piston set and get a new one.......

Do you have any proportionating valve in your brake setup? Or the rear braking is proportioned in master cylinder...

Hard braking shifts vehicle weight to front so the rear braking needs to be lowered...

My civic once clogged its valve for rear-right wheel. I remember the fear when my car went sideways on sudden brake. Changed the proportionating valve and problem solved.

there are two valves in the master cylinder one is for the front wheels and the other one for back. have switched the two as well but still the same..............God i tell you the feeling of a 2 Ton Fj40 going side ways............ errrr

It would toggle brake behavior if it was working fine.

There must be a valve in rear line which regulates fluid pressure after a certain point to reduce rear braking. If its stuck open, both front and rear would generate same pressures.

It could be at master cylinder out port or in between rear line.

there isnt any valve in the rear line. it must be controlled at the master cylinder.... i really miss the old ustads, this is just a small issue for them........................

my rolla's front right wheel jams up on hard braking. that really upsets the handling in that moment. I got no fix for it.

Have you tried re adjusting the front adjustment from scratch for both calipers ?

How does one adjust calipers? I thought they, unlike drums, they adjust themselves?

How does one bring the sides 'in balance'? Is there some sort of adjustment screw or.....?
