Using Dunlop SP Sport 490, Indonesian ones.... Extremely good road grip, and sidewall stiffness is just perfectly balanced, Only problem is that they produce bit more sound on road(atleast that is what i feel).... Used Kumho once...they are good balance between price and performance....

I used Kumho a long time ago. Don't exactly rem the model. They were extremely good tyres with low noise. Daewoo uses Kumho in all their buses so i guess Kimhos are underrated compared to what they actually are. I mean if they produce such a good heavy duty tyres, their smaller tyres would obviously be very good too...

My experience.....

Dunlop SP Sport (Used on a '95 Civic EG).
The tires had adequate road grip but they were kind'a noisy (IMO). At a 100 KMH, there was a little too much noise. It was like "hrrrrrr". On rainy days I needed to be on my toes, the grip was not good compared to its grip on DRY roads. On heavy braking, they used to "slip". I used them for 50,000KMs. I used the original Japanese ones, 185/70/R13.

Dunlop ECOS (Don't exactly know the name, also used on the Civic EG).
I am currently using this tire and am satisfied with it. It is noisy and it is hard because its meant to be economical. Braking is also a little better (maybe because I recently got new brake pads and disks for the car) but on rainy roads, you need to be a little more careful.

Yokohama Advan DB (Used it on a Mercedes Benz C Class W204).
Road grip is just awesome, its kind'a of an all-rounder. Its soft and "mushy" (I always keep the tire pressure at 28 PSI). Road grip in rain is also good but not as good as what I was hoping for. It is not as noisy as compared to Dunlop but I would not say its completely silent. It gets noisy after you cross a 120 KMH or so.

Falken (Using it on Mercedes Benz C Class W204)
I am currently using this tire on my car, 225/40/R18. The road grip is like a house lizard's feet (very, very good). I rate it 8/10 compared to the Advan DB (6.5/10). Its very quite and is soft (I keep the tire pressure at 28 PSI). I always keep 2 PSI less than recommended

Dunlop (Using it on a '07 Civic Hybrid).
Road grip is good but not what you'd expect from a quality Dunlop tire. Its hard and noisy but is good enough for a daily commuter.

This was my PERSONAL opinion. Everyone has different feelings

Been using kumho's for a long time now. I forgot the first model but the 2nd were the power-racer2's and the latest one we bought are the Solus KH-17's. They are what you call the luxury tires, soft, absorb shocks very well and soundless even at high speeds. Our 05 Xtrail came equipped with Kumho's and after we upgraded them a couple of years back to dunlops ( OMG they destroyed the meaning of comfort ) so we switched to Hankooks ( Couldnt find any Kumhos in 225R15 spec at the time )

Yes yokohama are better but in a different way. Its like you're comparing a luxury sedan to a fast sportback. One rides better and you feel at ease knowing you are safe, the other feels and grips better and you can throw it around corners at the expense of a little noise factor.

Dunlops have lost their charm.... they are not the tires they used to be. Falken do make some great tires but unfortunatly, you cant find the regular oem sizes that most vehicles use here. U can find them in odd sizes but its luck tbh. Advan Db's (like discussed here again and again) are very nice tires. Their only downside is the lack of grip in the wet. For me, that puts it behind the C-drives (which produce the same amount of road noise but are a little stiff) since the c-drives are just amazing in the corners (wet/dry)

Some tyres have Nylon belts and some have steel to reinforce its bottom and side walls and some have alternate layers of both. These days nylon belted tyres have become rare. They are usually more comfortable but weak compared to steel belted, so they are alomost out of fashion now.,.

My vote to Yokohama C drive. I think C drive is much better then advan db in all aspect.
