It is indeed extended till 30 November per FBR notice http://download1.fbr.gov.pk/Docs/2018930209816643Circular4of2018(1).pdf

However, I will still like to submit my tax return today if some cool soul can tell me how to fix the error.

Hi there !

I am using tax asan aap.. while filling for income tax return..i mistakely filled imcome tax rather than salary return.. Now I am unable to start filling salary return ..it gives error that applicatoon is still in draft.. i have deleted all info from general tax return..but of no use !! Can anyone tell how to tackle that issue!

there is not a problem if you have selected income tax, in your return you can select source as: SALARY.

access your IRIS account,
on left hand menu click open draft tab - select the draft entry it will turn yellow, delete it.

it is highly recommended to use a PC when handling such important data entry, which can lead to disaster incase of mis management of wrong data entry via app on a device.

if its in draft....you can delete it and start again

if its filed already for specific year you cant do anything and if its just normal return with all same details in salary section

thers nothing to worry

just login to iris and check for actual situation of your return if its submitted or in draft...if submitted you can download and check what you filed and its all fields are of salary theres nothing to worry about

specific salary returns are just for ease of people

I wanted to return the File of year 2021-2022 when I select this period it give me this error "MSG.IRIS-12-002 -origional return under relevant section has not been filed or prevously filed original/revised return not valid.
MSG.IRIS-12-002." but when I select 2020-2021 it did not gives any error any clue?

if any previous year return(s) are pending you shall submit those 1st before filing current one.
