There is no fun abt this. It is a serious thread. Electrical cars can be driven in pakistan also, if we have charging stations like cng and gasoline stations.

Tesla Motors - Model S

It is serious. But no one would ever take the Model S very far from there house since there aren't much chargin g poiints available right now. However, Chevy Volt's system is something far better then Tesla's system, though they must swap their bodies.

But in Pakistan, public will laugh it out. I know the last remaining power that controls the financial and trade in the world with the muslims is oil, and I don't see any automotive manufacturer that will make petrol/diesel engines after 10-15 years.

Filhaal, I am not too sure about the difference i'd make after getting serious here?

Very astute observation. The Volt is incredibly ugly and has Bob Lutz's hand all over it.

dunow but im still not comfortable with the electricity idea ... ...might be due to the reason that electricity here still is a rare commodity

THe idea for the post was to let others know that the present electric cars which come as hybrid cars have some change experiments going on.Putting electric motors tied up to wheels directly while removing the conventional mechanical combustion engine.

The innovators have nothing to bother about Pak electricity problem that you guys are yearning about.Even if there is no electricity in PAK that would not stop them from experimenting and introducing new model.

There are thousands of car models that never reached pakistan despite the fact that those could be driven on petrol/diesel. So what to talk of electric cars usability here.

Every innovation that surfaces on international arena has its own paradigm . Pakistan is technologially a backward country , we all are just users of technology we have nothing to do with innovation.

Hub motor technology doesnot mean it can only be used in Battery Electric Vehicles or Hybrid cars driven by Battery or fuel cells. This tech can be used with diesel and petrol engine with dynamo/ generator to remove transmission therefore to avoid losses. More over on boar smart contoller can deliver the right amount of electric power to right wheel etc... But this is for the world not for pakis they should first fix their so called corrupt SYSTEM.
