One embarrassing episode I remember, happened back in 2004, I was 12ish at that time.
I was living overseas, with family and was introduced to swimming for the first time from local friends. As I was allowed to go swimming on my own, which I was learning from the help of few older friends.
I didn't know a great deal about proper clothing for swimming, and to be honest, I never paid much attention to it, as I felt everything is same, and one can wear anything. Being young and innocent I haven't even known, what is a "See through effect".
So being naive, one day I simply wore my clean, tidy white boxers as my swim costume in the pool, and jumped right in. Later I came out to take my second dive, as you all can imagine the "white see through effect", happening.
I was there standing alone on top of the diving board, in the middle of the pool, in white wet boxers surrounded by people. And at first I felt this huge applause and cheers, in my head, I was thinking "I am some young hero diving in deep water (lol), maybe that's why am being appreciated and applauded", but the reality was quite different. Immediately I was told, what had actually happened by a friend and then I just stood blue in water, and I remember being in pool for an hour, before making a run towards the changing room and going home.
