Yes why not?? If your style is incorrect and you actually tell everyone it is correct does not make it correct does it? Ive got licenses of 3 different countries outside of Pakistan and if you tried to pull that while giving your test in the 2 european ones - you get kicked out. The instructor watches your feet for this action. Similarly on a motorcycle you dont pull in the clutch when you hit the brakes - or you hit the tarmac as the bike frees up.

So please rather than being offended and putting up what would one do - get your driving technique right. Your argument shows that if I gave you a Heavy GW truck full loaded with 45 tons of weight on a trailer - you would actually burn the friction brakes downhill, crash into a house and complain that what could have been done. Its the driver's job to work the brake systems. The license is a certificate showing that you know all this.

there are a couple of ways of stopping quickly.

u can either release clutch or brake without it as well. both ways work almost equally well.
The thing to consider here is that which foot of yours is quickest. If ur left foot is quicker, depress clutch and brake. If ur right foot is quickest, then keep clutch where ever u want and brake.
If u want car to stop even quicker, use handbrake, not full but only about 30% or so. It helps a little. Dont lock rear tires or u skid out of control.
If u have right foot on the brake and left on clutch, then u have the opportunity to downshift into lower gear. And in case your main brakes fail, then you can release clutch to brake the car.

So overall, it is better to use the right foot to brake and keep clutch pressed and gear by shifted into lower gear. Its upto u if u want to downshift first or pull handbrake first.
You can do both together as well, but it can be dangerous lol..

put in neutral "N". press throttle and maintain rpm at 2.5k atleast. This is for hondas only. cuz they come with Btec as well. most people dont know this. its BrakeTechnology. Kicks in at 2.5k+.

I side with the psychologists here- a lot/ most people would slam the brake if they saw something. You'd clutch your steering wheel, clench your gluteus, and keep your foot planted on the brake pedal. You'd only go for the clutch if that's somewhat innate or a "knee jerk" reaction... no pun intended. But then again, I'm an American. And I don't know what a clutch pedal is, so I only have a functioning right leg in the car at all times.

The truly awesome ones amongst us would see an incident, slam the brake, clutch in, blip throttle, downshift, blip throttle, downshift, let the clutch go, and after they stop, have a story to tell. Yes they might double clutch, but... we have synchros that can take a beating once in a while.

In UK you must pass the driving TEST to get driving license. During the test the examiner sits on passenger seat. While you are driving, he only tapes at the dash board to indicate an emergency, you have to apply “EMRGECY BREAKS ‘in response that must be spontaneous, without the clutch pressing and looking at the back view mirror or side view mirror. If you fail to apply the breaks quickly, you will fail in the test and will not get driving license.

with the clutch left alone in that situation will help you PREVENT the wheels from locking and also actually help in reducing the inertia of the drivetrain since the engine will be slowing it down and the brakes will slow the car down. If you the cut the connection between the engine and the drivetrain and that too during emergency braking, good luck.

keeping your foot on the clutch is bad in a way that it will keep pressure on the clutch bearing and thrust washers ALL the TIME (you don't really want any of those to go bad) plus the plate might as well slip slightly - which is a loss again and multiplied quite a lot at higher speeds. This is relatively good for the parts suppliers and manufacturers as compared to the people who drive well above 250,000 kms on the original setup.

And if you've been driving for more than 5 years and you still lock your wheels in emergency braking - you suck at driving.

Now you're just taking things personally. Syncview's point was made out of pretty thick, humid air.

Emergency braking doesn't necessarily mean you jam the brake pedal- I've had pretty scary moments where THANKFULLY I've been able to steer out close calls- driving a '04 Camry with only front disks (rear drums), and No ABS... none of that EBD nonsense in this car, btw.
But if you do have an instance where you get the brake pedal all the way to the floor, then yes, in a car without ABS that even has it's braking system working in acceptable order, the wheels will lock.

BTW, if every time you're braking in an emergency and locking your wheels, you're certainly doing something wrong!

All are vehicles and fall under the same category of braking and moving, it seems that you are blockheaded and do not want to understand that your driving skill is really thin. In any given circumstances a good driver will not lock their wheels on full brakes - its covered in basic driving, If you failed at this and still fail at it, then its not the rest of the world's matter - its your personal matter. So rather than arguing on grounds of assumptions, thin air, mental reaction be sensible please.

The reason why there is a experienced driver and a regular jock is termed as "skilled". You dont see a fresh pimple faced lad trying out his style on an expensive sports coupe (he'll be dead by the next lights)

The jock (aka pimple faced kid) would use the brakes as a binary device like you are implying on this thread and not a linear one, and end up hugging a pole or tree or in the ditch or ravine (murree). Good, reduction in the low IQ population of Pakistan is needed anyway.

This thread is becoming a joke now, on the same note - why dont you take your car to 150 km/h while riding your clutch like you do, and abruplty fully lock the brakes and press the clutch too at the same time till the car stops - come back (if applicable) and post the results.

get an ejection seat in your car, will cost not much.

in emergency ACT fast while pressing the brakes & clutch pull the ejector cable and let GOD do the rest.

let me add few words more -

stomping on brakes does few simultaneous actions make engine stall abruptly. halting & disconnect power to wheels while cutting out the forward momentum leaving chance of dhamaka 50 50

engaging clutch result in 100% dhamaka !

Personally I have experienced that applying brakes without pushing clutch at high speeds is much better as told by other friends that sudden drop at engine speed also helps in slowing down the car.
