@ all...my Suzuki Baleno 1999 GXi has clocked 252,000kms +
first engine..with no oil consumption ...na hie pani kam krti hai
goes perfectly on m2 lhr-isb with ac...MASHALLAH

It's depends on maintenance...A friend ov mine has a Corolla 86 single hand driven with ODO ov 275000 !!!

my uncles 08corolla died just after 30000km..

valve seals can be done with the engine and even head in place. Its just that our desi mechanics dont know how to do it without removing the head.

Why did you re-ring your engine at 120,000 kms thats nothing for a modern age engine. Did you have low compression?

compression was good, as before seals and rings change i could touch 130 Km/h easily, but a local mechanic who change the valve seals said that coz the engine is opened so it will be better to change rings so i changed the rings also. local mechanics just do't know how to change seals without opening the engine, so i thing it is not overhaul it is just valve seals changing, beside rings and seals head gasket changed because head was removed.

NOW MY QUESTION IS THAT, YOU PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT 300K + ENGINE RUNNING PERFECTLY, SO IS IT WITHOUT SEALS CHANGE??? BECAUSE I HEARD THAT SEALS NEED TO BE CHANGED MORE FREQUENTLY THAN OTHER METAL PARTS.

engine life depends on the use and abuse our neighbors have corona 87 diesel original engine clocked more then 300K kms
and @zelous well rings needed to be changed if engine is opened hot and ur meachinc did good to save more work ahead and money as well and ring changing never means over haull as long as it has original pistons and cylinder walls

i just remembered one thing. almost all cars in PK have had their meter put back. this means that we cannot tell the real mileage of the cars we are talking about.

all odometers get tampered with in PK, this means that we cannot justify most posts in this thread unless the person has owned the car from new.

i read in one post that "rotary engines are as bad as their owners." I think this quote should be applied to every engine weather its rotary or simple one. Treat your car well it will treat you according to your expectations.

Well i sold a Honda City, 1,75,000 KM first hand and met the new owner after about 1.2 years and engine was still going on just fine. Though it had run 1,75,000 KM on petrol.

I've had two engines die on me, both because of something related to engine oil. So properly checking and maintaining JUST that can keep you out of trouble for a long time.

Bhai during car service , they wash engine with water in pakistan... Has bad effect on engine life?? If so how??
My mehran vxr used by me from day 1 consumes half a litre of oil at 1lac 5 k kms.. used with AC on all time... And many long trips to hilly areas.. changed oil, oil filter and air filter every 3000 km.. regular gear oil, brake oil changed... Used toyota genuine coolant throughout..But consuming oil at this much low mileage has taken to my heart... Disappointed to get such low mileage before engine is worn.. Used suzuki 10w40 initially, then total 10w40, then switched to zic 10w40 ...and now when it started reducing oil.. put 20w50 zic SN... And at half a litre loss, shifted to 20w50 havoline SG.. I wonder if anything went wrong..
