Engine oil capacity in toyota altis

the simplest solution if i had a 1zzfe car, i would simply pour oil myself and check on dipstick and drive to parking (without slope) and recheck next morning before start.
even diffirent oil filters used make diffirence.
i did that this with my previous 4age20v and found out diffirent oil filters made slight diffirence.

i trust my calculation more than whatever anyone says.

Really liked the answer of Levin.
Old people of Greece has the concept that the men have 2 more teeth s than the women but no body have the sense to open the mouth and counts the teeth.
Fortunately I have an Altis and always change the oil in front of mechanic myself. The quantity is around 3.7 litres. Just as the Manual states.
Whatever is saying 5 litre is ripping you . Only once a fellow at Liqui Moli outlet tried to play that trick of 5 litre with me and I said thanks and just got the 4 litre pack and the altis is filled in exactly 3.7 or 3.8.
Also I uses the bigger size Filter (One that comes with 4AGE and 10th Gen Corolla) instead of regular 9th Gen filters and still the amount of oil is always less than 4 litres.

altis requires 4.5 ltres oil to fill upto the mark.

Mentioned very specifically in section 8 (page 216), of the owner's manual of my altis ..

1ZZ-FE Engine
with filter - 4.2 ltr = 4.4 qt = 3.8 imp qt
without filter - 4.0 ltr = 4.2 qt = 3.6 imp qt

2NZ-FE Engine
with filter - 3.7 ltr = 3.9 qt = 3.3 imp qt
without filter - 3.4 ltr = 3.6 qt = 3.0 imp qt

2C Engine
with filter - 5.1 ltr = 5.4 qt = 4.5 imp qt
without filter - 4.4 ltr = 4.7 qt = 3.9 imp qt

The above mentioned data is also supported by my personal experience of all the three variants.

I may sound crude but it may be possible that the ground level of your oil change bay is not perfectly horizontal.....and therefore you guys end up putting in more than required....

I know this is old, but last time I did mine I put in 4L and the dipstick was showing it being fine. So I think 4 / 4.1 is about right for the 1zz-fe engine

this is very simple my dear. do it yourself once and you will know the answer. when the oil is totally drained and the new filter has been installed, pour in the oil and after 3 litres start pouring it slowly in intervals and keep on checking it with dip stick in between. you will know

Hi: I have a toyota altis 2007 manual model.

Evrytime I go to Toyota dealer for periodic maintenance, the advisor tells me that 5 litre oil needs to be changed. So they have to put 4litre + 1litre bottle.

I checked the owner manual now and found the capacity of engine 1ZZ-FE and 2NZ-FE is 3.7 litre (with filter) and 3.5 litre (without filter).

Now im curious, do they really put 5 litres in the engine? Is this a lack of knowledge on the dealers' part? or printing mistake in manual? or simply a scam?

According to the manual, the 2C engine (2.0D model) has 5.1 litre capacity.

Would appreciate comments and advice.

Altis 2012 has different engine.i.e, 1ZR-FE 1600cc. This is old thread and Altis with 1ZZ-FE 1800cc is discontinued in 2011.

Bro come on. If they are pouring 5 liter oil into 3.5 litr capacity all engine seals will burst and oil will leave causing serious damage to engine. They r making fool out of and ripping u from everywhere. All get the car job done infront of ur eyes and stick to ur car in service area. Oil exact measurement of oil read owners manual. Altis grande engine oil capacity is 4 L or 3.75 with oil filter.

Altis 1.6 is 1ZR-FE and 1.8 is 2ZR-FE, it’s not 1ZZ and oil capacity is 4.2 L with filter. Read car manual
