Engine Oil Change Interval in Bikes

i have cd 70 . i change oil + tuning at every 2000 km .
and i still feel the engine power as of a new engine. good pick and also low feul consumbtion.
i am using caltex from the begning . and after 2years mechenic says engine is 100% ok.
if you use a good multi grade oil then you can easily run it to 2000-3000 km. regularly take care of fuel filter air filter and spark plug too . and you can run your bike for 80,000 km for sure with out having new rings or piston etc.

bhai i am using havoline.
and my czn is using shell hielex super in his cd 70 and he is changing oil on 4000+kms. i said to him that itna zulm na kero iss per ......and he said kuch nahi hota iss ko
and after 35000km his bike is still runing ok . engine is just like new. good pick and power

So the conclusion will be we can easily go around 1500 Km with a good engine oil and even go up to 2000 km in winters right guys ?

imranbhatti is right. thinner oil is better but it must be with high quality and branded oil. you are not gonna believe but i am using 5w-30 in my honda 125 and this honda 125 is like a jet some time.
why thinner oil is better it is a long discussion. i,ve read a lot about oils and trust me the thinner the better. but always use higher grade oil like SL, SJ, or CF(see the oil box you will see these words on the back of the box under oil Specs). dont use low quality thinner oil they are gonna ruin your engine.

but the thing is u can not use 5w-30w oil in a CD 70 bcoz cd 70 have a wet clutch plate system and 5w-30w oils have friction resistors and this will not allow the wet clutch plate to work..

I agree with thinner the better theory but when u have a to run the bike in 46c and in sun over 50c i think u need atleast 40w oil to deal with such heat..
if u have a car manual or a bike manual there is a very good chart given that in which weather condition which oil should be used..... i m not talkin about synthetic oils they are not soo good for our cg 125 or cd 70 these engines have old technology...

Hmmz even though i m using Havoline problem i m facing after every few 100 km the oil is decreased a bit in the engine even though i got a brand new bike..
What can be the problem or is it normal ?
i remember when i had 125 i had same problem the oil decreases a bit...

I have CD 70...

every mechanic i go to says change it after 800KM and that if you don't change it your timing chain will get problems.

I am using the caltex havoline.....either 20-W40 (in small bottle) or 20-W-50 that the honda guys use (the bigger bottle..

it's very old post given life, 2006...
Better use ZIC 10W-40 4T, it's good semi-synthetic oil, Using in Ravi 70; seems load off from engine. As it doesn't burden much viscosity on engine so smooth and better fuel consumption. Couldn't see any other product with 10W.

Do a practical take a 800cc car and a 1500-1600cc car.
Pour in the same Oil in both cars.
Result: Oil will loose its viscosity at 2000-2500kms in a 800cc car. In a 1500cc/1600cc car you ll see that the oil at around 3000-4000kms has better viscosity then that of the 800cc cars oil at 2000kms.
Reason: Small engines=High Revs=Early wearing of oil.

I had a CD200 and a CD70 both, 200 needed oil change at around 1500kms and the 70 needed at no more then 600-700kms... after that the oil becomes water. High Revs wear it out.

guys i am using havoline engine oil 20-40 in my 125, changing at every 1000kms, i heard that other engine oils like zic will make my bike more smooth, is that true? also does using 20-50 instead of 20-40 also make the bike more smooth? please comment

very informative topic , i have a plan to buy a new GS150 in one or two month n my question is that to all GS 150 expert k which density oil n brand is best for this bike in all season n specialy in first 1000km running period which oil u guys recommend
